To all our valued customers and supporters of Cafe Options, it is with regret that we inform you that Cafe Options has now closed indefinitely as of Friday 14/9/2018.
Due to significant organisational changes for Diamond House including the sale of our buildings so that we can relocate to Port Adelaide, transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the uncertainty of our operational funding from the state government in 2019, we have made the strategic decision to close Cafe Options.
We are very proud of our achievements in setting up the Cafe as a social enterprise and intend to continue providing catering services which will be provided by Diamond House catering services.
During the last 12 months, we have employed 7 people on Award Wages who now have developed skills and experience that we hope will enable them to find other work and continue their employment pathways. Most of our employees were from different cultural backgrounds, were over 55 years of age, and had been long-term unemployed due to language and age barriers. Now they are more confident in their futures.
Once again thank you for supporting our social enterprise project. As one door closes, another door opens.
