1 — WHERE IT STARTED
Almost four years ago, we opened our doors as a daytime café.
Somewhere between the long days, busy services, ideas that worked and plenty that didn’t, Ten Minas slowly became what it is today.
Four years feels like it went by in a moment. So as we look back, we asked some of the people who helped shape this place one simple question:
"What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt from working here?”
2 — THE LESSONS BEHIND THE FOOD
Chef: “I learnt that consistency is harder — and more important — than perfection.”
Chef: “I learnt that the best dishes usually come after a lot of failed ones.”
Some dishes took one try. Others took ten. Some never made it out of the kitchen.
But every failed idea taught us something — and slowly helped us find our own identity.
3 — THE PEOPLE
Manager: “I learnt that leadership is less about telling people what to do, and more about bringing out the best in them.”
FOH: “I learnt that hospitality isn’t just serving food. It’s how you make someone feel.”
People may come for the food, but what stays with them is often how they felt while they were here.
The conversations. The celebrations. The familiar faces walking through the door again.
4 — THE CONNECTIONS
A restaurant is never just four walls, a kitchen and a menu.
It’s the friendships formed between busy services. The mistakes we laughed about afterwards. The dishes we almost gave up on. The customers who became familiar faces.
And every team member — past and present — who gave a little piece of themselves to this place.
Some stayed for years. Some were only part of a chapter. But everyone left something behind.
5 — FOUR YEARS LATER
Four years later, we’re still learning. Still changing. Still experimenting.
There are things we’d do differently if we could start again, but we wouldn’t trade the journey that got us here.
To everyone who worked beside us, supported us, celebrated with us, came back for another meal, told a friend about us, or simply walked through our doors — you helped make Ten Minas what it is today. 🤍
And for that, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Four years down, and our story is far from finished.
