🇿🇦 WHO’S KEEN FOR A SAFFA NIGHT AT THE BDCC? 🇿🇦

We’re looking at bringing a little South African flavour to Byford! Think a live DJ, sokkie, bunny chow, Peppermint Crisp tart and Klippies ’n Coke on special! 💃🕺

It’s a chance to reconnect with the South African community, celebrate the culture and enjoy a proper kuier.

👇 Would you come along? Let us know below and tag the mates you’d bring! If there’s enough interest, we’ll get the ball rolling! 🇿🇦

Love rediscovering old gems like this while spring cleaning 📖

Records from the very first Full Committee Meeting on 20 March 1957, along with a 1958 newspaper notice relating to the Club’s incorporation.

With BDCC hitting the big 7-0 next year, it’s pretty special looking back at where it all began 💚

Ahead of our recent AGM, a member raised a fair question about our electricity costs. With light, power and heating expenses reaching $134,356 last financial year, up 18.2%, we share the concern!

Here’s the eye-opener for context: August’s electricity charges came to around $9,719 before GST, but only $3,837 was for retail electricity. Around 60% was network, capacity, market and environmental charges.

We’re putting the sunshine to work too ☀️ Our $90,200 investment in solar during 2021/22 generated approximately 5,080 kWh in August, helping reduce how much electricity we buy from the grid.

Just one of the many costs behind running your community club. Every visit helps keep the lights on ❤️

Would just like to say thanks so much for the recent Google reviews ❤️ They really mean a lot to a community-based organisation like ours.

We’re far from perfect, but we always give it a fair go.
