Cyclone Luana has officially gone from “disorganised mess” to “proper grown-up cyclone.” It’s tightening up nicely, getting stronger, and is expected to keep intensifying before crossing the northwest Kimberley coast on Saturday.

In plain English:
• Luana is currently a Category 1 system and strengthening.
• Warm ocean waters, low wind shear, and heaps of tropical moisture are basically giving it a free gym membership.
• The most likely track takes it between Broome and Cockatoo Island early Saturday morning give or take a few hours.
• There was a brief concern it could stay offshore longer and ramp up to something nastier, but that’s now looking unlikely.
• Once it moves inland on Sunday, it’ll weaken quickly and turn into a soggy, windy rain-maker heading south over inland WA.

Bottom line: Kimberley residents should be prepared, especially around Broome and nearby coastal areas. This one means business, even if it’s not planning to stick around long.

💛 Its been a Good Year– and So Grateful 💛

As we reopened Pardoo Roadhouse following Cyclone Ilsa on 2023, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us during this challenging time.

The messages, check-ins, helping hands, patience, and encouragement meant more to us than words can say. It reminded us just how strong and caring this community truly is.

We’re incredibly grateful for every person who stood by us, and we’re excited to welcome you back through our doors. Thank you for supporting local and for being part of the Pardoo Roadhouse family.

We look forward to seeing you soon 💛🚗☕

Cant resist to share with you our Roadhouse song!
