Hey guys. We know we haven't posted for a while but just wanted to let you all know we are alive and well and working on ideas to bring Hoppo's back. In the meantime you don't have to do without. You can now get our gelato and shakes delivered again from Lynch's Hub via Uber Eats, Menulog and Doordash. Just search for Lynch's Hub on Wharf Rd Newcastle on any of those platforms and you're away.

Hey everyone, if you are missing those Hoppo's shakes in this heat dont forget you can still get them at Lynch's hub on Wharf Rd where we are open till 6pm to keep you cool with gelato and shakes on weekends. This is our nougat flavour and it makes the best shake in Newcastle. All our shakes our flavoured with our hand made gelato. We don't do syrups 'cause syrups are gross. If you're a fan of shakes come try the difference. (Almost everything is GF and there's heaps of DF and Vegan options). We are also on Menulog if you want to stay in the AC.

***RETURN OF HOPPO'S CLUB NIGHTS - HELP US SHARE THE WORD***

Hey everyone, sorry we've been a bit quite here. We haven't disappeard and are still producing for wholesale while we hatch some ideas about the future of Hoppo's. You might remember we had this idea a while ago at Hoppo's to support clubs and community groups. Its one that we really love so we thought we'd just pick it up and move it to . Times are pretty tough at the moment for a lot of people and that tends to make it even tougher for those grass roots organisations in our community that make life better for everyone. So if you are involved in a local charity, not-for-profit, school, sporting club or community group that could use a fundraising idea, please read on and hit share.

We are calling these "LYNCH'S CLUB NIGHTS" and we will be offering them every second Sunday (starting in January). You may or may not know that we make all of our own gelato at Lynch's with 20 flavours on offer. If you've tried it you already know, its pretty good stuff. The basic concept here is that your club will take over our gelato scoop from 4pm till 6pm on a Sunday afternoon.

You market your own event (we'll help) and get as many people there as you can to eat gelato for a good cause. Your teachers, coaches, scout leaders, organisers ( whoever you want really) will jump on the scoops (we'll help). At the end of the night your group keeps half of the scoop sales. Simples. Now that includes any gelato that you sell to the public, not just to your group. This means that locals can come down every second Sunday and know they are supporting a great cause too.

Even if you cant think of anyone straight off, please hit share. As mentioned, there are a lot of people doing important stuff out there at the moment that need every little bit to keep doing what they are doing. Hi Chefs, we are looking for somebody to help us out at Lynch's Hub (where we have the best view in town as you can see) and Hoppo's Milk Bar. The key thing we are looking for is somebody we can rely on as you will be working fairly independently. There's a lot of flexibility in this role for a mature and trustworthy self-starter.

Our plan is to teach you how to make gelato. Even if you have experience in gelato making you'll need a bit of a brush up on our equipment and recipes but don't worry too much about that, gelato making is not difficult once you have the basics down. Once you are across our current requirements, there's lots of scope to get creative with this part of our options, potentially building the wholesale side and really making the gelato production your own. This is the super flexible bit too, our production routine can be pretty much planned around what suits you so the more you help us build this side of the business the more control you have over your hours and routine.

We would like to have you making gelato 2 days per week at our Mayfield production site, supporting our catering prep 1-2 days per week from Lynch's Hub on Wharf Rd and one day of cafe prep and service.

The best part is the team. We are a small, happy and hard working crew. We've all been together for a long time (I guess a ridiculously long time in this industry) which really speaks for the professionalism and support that we give each other. We are excited to meet anyone who is motivated to be part of and contribute to that kind of working environment.

Meet the neighbourhood Wattleseed dealer. This is Chris from My Souk Drawer weighing out some Bramble Wattle (or Gundabluey) seed. We try to grow or forage most of our native flavours ourselves but the Coastal and Golden Wattle we mostly get around here aren't as good and our Bramble Wattle seedlings are only just sprouting so we we wont see any seed from there for a year or so. Chris is really knowledgeable and always has time for a chat. He's got a good selection of native flavours including Lemon Myrtle, Aniseed Myrtle, Bush Tomatoes and of course Wattleseed

Good news travels fast, didn't even have the cabinet filled up before this little bloke turned up. Hoppo's is now scooping again on Wharf Rd at Lynch's Hub. We are still working on getting into a rhythm again with making so we might be a bit patchy on the flavours to start but we are underway. Pop in and see us this week and mention that you are an OG Hoppo's supporter from the old site and your first scoop is half price. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Last day popping the signs out at our Mayfield location this morning. Don't forget to come in and see us before we close the Mayfield shop.
