I make what I believe is the best bánh mì in town. And there’s a reason why.

I could have taken the easy route and used soy sauce, but I wanted to create something that tasted like the food I grew up with in Vietnam.

So I reached out to my grandma and asked her for her recipe.

Then I spent a week testing and tweaking it until I had something I could truly call my own.

The sauce uses 10 ingredients and takes 30 minutes on the stove, and we make it fresh every day. We also prepare our pork fresh daily so the skin stays crispy.

It’s packed with fresh ingredients and flavours that I’ve worked hard to balance perfectly.

Hi. I'm Tien.

I bought this cafe house two years ago. When I first took over, it was European cafe, but I knew that I wanted to put a bit of my culture into it. So I started putting Vietnamese food on the menu.

And then I realized that some of my regular customers stopped coming in. That was hard. But I wanted to sell food I was proud of.

So I started with crispy pork bánh mì. I even begged my grandma to use her recipe, and then spend months tweaking it until something that I could call my own. Even the sauce. I made it from scratch.

Honestly, it was not very easy. There have been months where we barely break even, and sometimes I look at an empty room and wonder if I got it wrong.

I still think that I made the right call.

I don't want Kaffe House just to be another cafe. I want people to come in and taste something that means something to me.

If you haven't been here before, come and try our food! You won't regret it.
