🩵 Sweets at Nambour

This post is one I wish I never had to write.

We’ve known Chris and Naomi (aka Turney & Nomz) for almost 13 years. We met when I was pregnant with our daughter Sakura, before Cooper was even born, which means we’ve had the privilege of watching him grow up his whole life.

These aren’t just friends to us.

They’re Sakura’s godparents. They’re the kind of people who show up without being asked, who celebrate your wins, sit beside you through the hard stuff, and would drop everything if you needed them.

Honestly, they’re some of the best humans I’ve ever known.

A week ago, their world was turned upside down when beautiful 10 year old Cooper was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Within 24 hours, he’d started chemotherapy.

The months ahead are going to be incredibly tough. Their focus needs to be on Cooper and their family, not the financial pressure that comes with months away from work, travel, fuel and everything else that treatment brings.

So on Sunday 16 August, we’re doing what communities do best.

We’ll fill Sweet’s with good people, good food, live music, kids’ activities and a giant raffle, all to help lighten the load for a family who has spent years lifting others up.

If you know the Turners, you already know why this matters.

If you don’t know them, trust me when I say this: they’re exactly the kind of people you’d hope to have in your corner.

Now it’s our turn to be in theirs.
