A little behind-the-scenes look at The Foggy Lantern. ☕🏮

Today we gave our new custom rubber stamp its first test run, branding our leather menus as we work through different inks to find the most durable finish for everyday café life.

A big thank you to Wayne from Imprint Rubber Stamps for producing such a high-quality stamp. The detail is incredible and exactly what we were hoping for.

The menus themselves have a story too. Rather than buying new, we sourced these beautiful rustic leather menus at auction, giving them a second life and keeping quality items in use. Sustainability and supporting local businesses is something we value wherever we can.

Now comes the important part — testing, tweaking and making sure they stand up to countless coffees, breakfasts, lunches, cocktails and tapas share plates to come.

There’s been plenty happening behind the scenes at The Foggy Lantern as we continue working towards bringing this beautiful riverside destination back to life.

From restoring and refreshing the building, to putting the finishing touches on our menus, packaging, signage and all the little details that will help create the experience we’ve been dreaming of, every day brings us one step closer.

It’s an exciting time for our team, and seeing everything slowly come together makes us even more eager to welcome you through the doors.

We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on and create a place where locals and visitors alike can gather for great food, good coffee, drinks with friends and relaxed riverside hospitality.

Our Grand Opening is currently scheduled for 1 October, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of the journey with you in the months ahead.

The countdown is officially on. ✨🏮

✨ Thank you to Glam Adelaide for featuring The Foggy Lantern and helping share the story behind our newest riverside venture.

We’re incredibly excited to bring a new dining destination to the Murray River while continuing to grow alongside our much-loved 1924 Riverfront Steakhouse.

The Foggy Lantern has been inspired by the history, atmosphere and hospitality of the Murray, and we can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors alike through the doors very soon.

A big thank you to everyone who has already shown their support, shared our announcements and followed along on the journey so far.

In the early paddle steamer days, lanterns were a symbol of safe passage, hospitality and gathering — welcoming travellers as they arrived along the Murray River trade routes. We wanted to capture that same atmosphere here on the riverfront… relaxed, inviting and full of character.

The Foggy Lantern is a nod to the romance and nostalgia of the Murray River era, blended with a fresh new riverside dining and events experience.

The name also perfectly reflects the venue’s riverside setting alongside the Murray — timeless, atmospheric and uniquely South Australian.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon. 🌫️🏮🚢

A new dining experience is arriving at Sturt Reserve!

Council has been working hard behind the scenes to secure a new Lessee for our building at 2 Murray Cods Drive, Sturt Reserve.

We can now officially announce that well-known locals Peter and Damien O'Riley, together with James Jasiunas, have secured the lease and are preparing to open The Foggy Lantern.

Positioned on the riverfront within the Recreation Precinct at Sturt Reserve, this new offering will bring a vibrant new atmosphere to the heart of Murray Bridge.

As the building has been empty for an extended period of time, there is still work to be done to get it ready for service, but we look forward to The Foggy Lantern opening soon.
