🪨 Ravenswood, QLD 🏚️
100% one of our favourite stops so far, you could spend DAYS here 😍 SO much history, artifacts, relics and stories from the old gold mining days… old ruins, the old church, TWO old pubs, and so much more - everything restored to PRISTINE condition 😱 so much so that it’s a bit eerie for the small amount of people here - during the day we were literally the only people around in the whole village - not another soul! 😅 the 15m tall white quartz blow is also a must see! Over 300 million years old 🪨

🍺The Imperial Hotel, Ravenswood QLD🍻
🪨So damn eiree... An old gold town, where a commercial gold mine opened in the late 80's, which was then granted a 350 million dollar expansion in 2020 💸 Very few locals left, and there is a constant hum of the mine 24/7 ☠️
It's like the town is stuck in time and everyone just packed up and left 😓

🍻 Mingela Pub 🍻 We were so keen to stop in here! Heard it was one of the youngest (if not the youngest) publican in QLD - maybe even Aus! 😻 so good to see another young person giving an old pub a red hot crack - and trying to revive a community - cause it’s bloody hard work!!! 💝

🌴Come with us through the beautiful
Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation along the Bloomfield track!
the steepest road in Aus
- the old 1HZ doesn’t like a hill at the best of times - let alone one this steep!!
the most breathtaking place, and definitely the biggest adventure to get to a pub so far🍺

🍻 The Malpass Hotel, Home Hill QLD 🍺 Another historic beauty in North Queensland ❤️‍🔥 founded in 1924 by Joseph Malpassand (hence the name of the pub)… the pub recently sold in 2026 to the owners of Townsville Brewing Co 🍺
Amazing historic photos on the walls of floods, the locals were all up for a yarn, the outside of the building had so much character 👍🏽 add it to ya pub stop list! 🤩 Was sad to drive past the Grand National Hotel - closed indefinitely 🥲 (p.s Daisy still refuses to accept the cargo net) 🤣😭

🍻 we can’t always have a schooner at all the pubs we pass - especially when we often start driving at 7am 🤣 but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate them from the outside! 😍 come with us to Wonga Beach Caravan Park - one of the most friendly spots we have stayed on our east coast travels so far 😍

Gumlu QLD 😻 the best fruit and veggie stall here too! 🍍 made some sangas in the back of the car, stretched the legs and kept on truckin! 😻
