If there's a better cure for a cold August day, we're yet to find it. DC Cartel crispy chilli oils are on the shelf now: The Original 1983, the Extra Hot, and the Olive Oil 1983, all hand-batched in Melbourne to Dulcie's 40-year-old recipes, in limited runs. The Original has a Southern Royal Gold to its name if you need a tiebreaker.

Markets in Macedon Village, guided tours at Duneira Estate, Botanical Dyeing Workshops at Woodend Neighbourhood House, Art to Wear at The Gallery right next door, and a Kangaroo Walk & Talk at Hanging Rock. Woodend and Macedon are just minutes from the mount, making Mount Macedon Trading Post the obvious spot for a post-market brunch or lunch before you head home.
