Each week in October we will give away a family sized cake to a lucky subscriber. One new winner each week, all you need to be eligible is to subscribe to the Trading Post Family with your email address on our website.

Winners will be contacted directly and must be able to collect (or nominate someone to collect) their prize in person from the Trading Post during business hours.

October in the Ranges is stacked. It kicks off with the 2026 National Insect Expo in Woodend, Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th, Australia's largest insect exhibition, with over 100 exhibitors from around the country.

Right alongside it, the Bolobek Garden Fair runs this Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th at 370 Mt Macedon Road, with 50+ stallholders and access to one of Victoria's most significant heritage gardens. We’ll have a Trading Post stall full of our homemade goodies, so be sure to stop by!

From the 6th, The Gallery Mt Macedon (right behind us!) is exhibiting Watercolour, Wicker and Wire: paintings and handmade wicker and wire pieces from husband-and-wife artists Terry and Michelle Jarvis, running through to the 31st.

Saturday 17th, head to Gisborne for a First Nations Music Afternoon with songstress LEO (Leonie Whyman), featured on ABC's Deadloch.

And to close out the month on the 31st, it's the Macedon Village Farmers' Market in the morning, followed by the Duneira Estate Bluebell Festival, when the Dutch Elm Avenue is carpeted in bluebells. Running from the 31st through to Sunday 1 November.

ST. ALi built its name on specialty coffee roasted in small batches in Melbourne, and they've now put that same coffee into capsules: Wide Awake, Orthodox, and Italo Disco, all recyclable aluminium pods that work with most Nespresso-compatible machines. All three are on the shelf now.
