The bakery is already a hive of activity in anticipation of our Saturday Bread Market Day. Traditional sourdough, Dark Rye, Light Rye with caraway, potato and Leek and all your regular favourites. We will be baking more Gluten Free and Brioche - as these sell out quickly. Ring tomorrow morning to pay and put yours aside or pop down early so you don't miss out

Tomorrow we are showcasing our Brioche on the specials board (Maddy has made a crazy good blueberry whipped butter - we have small tasters available for purchase if you want to make the French Toast Brioche Special at home!)

Now the purists would shudder at this - but we bet it would taste insane on a warm croissant 🥐😁

To some people it’s just bread.

In Greece & Sicily it's a daily affair. It is not filler; it is not something you grab without thinking. It is ritual. It's hospitality. It's intensely communal.

And if a piece of bread fell on the floor then my mother would pick it up and give it a little kiss - this shows respect and gratitude. In fact any stale bread that (God forbid) had to be thrown away, had to be kissed before it was disposed of
