The Yaama Ganu Centre houses an Aboriginal Art Gallery and cafe and is a joint funded venture between the Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) and the Indigenous Land Council (ILC). One of the primary purposes of the centre is to tackle the Indigenous Employment issues in the town of Moree and currently and has been a huge success. The centre is managed by Sascha Estens, daughter of Dick Estens, t

he founder of the AES and Toby Osmond a restauranteur from Sydney who is well known for his exclusive restaurants and bars known as Will & Toby's. The cafe staff are an all Indigenous team and the cafe is open 7 days and for functions also. "The centre's already provided a full tourist experience for passing travellers, and a fresh new face for the foodie scene for locals."

For the Pitjantjatjara people living in the Central and Western Desert, knowledge of the water sources was crucial to survival. The deep familiarity with their country endured constant sources of water and food could be found and this intimate understanding of the landscape continues today.
