It’s a very bittersweet time for us to share that Turn Back Time Cafe has officially been sold. ❤️
Over 15 years ago my mum Sue and my aunty Christine, two sisters with a dream… decided to open a cafe here in Moe. What they created went on to become such a huge part of our family and our community.
Growing up, Turn Back Time was so much more than just a cafe. My siblings, cousins and I have all worked here together, along with some of our friends. We have had staff come and go over the years, but so many of them became like family too.
I’ve watched customers come through our doors, have babies, bring those babies back as they grew up, celebrate special occasions with us and, sadly, we’ve also had to say goodbye to some very special customers who had become like family.
We made it through COVID, adapted when we had to, catered for countless events, donated to fundraising events and tried our best to give back to the community that supported us for so many years.
For me personally, Turn Back Time has been such a massive part of my entire working life. I’ve been there right from the very beginning.. testing the dippin dots flavours before we opened with my high school friends, and taking the first opening week off school to help keep up with the crazy amount of dishes. I spent my weekends working as a junior, then did my school work placement here every Friday. The moment I finished high school, I started my chef’s apprenticeship at the cafe, before learning how to make coffee and becoming a barista. Over the years, I’ve also run the catering side of the business and took on managing the shop to give mum as much help as I could. I’ve grown up in the cafe, it had become my home and so much of what I know and who I am today has been shaped by the years I’ve spent here.
But life has changed.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve started my own family, and my sister Kaitlyn has too. Mum also has her own health battles that she needs to focus on. We knew that the time had come for our family to step away from the business.
That decision was made a little while ago.. it’s just taken a long time for the right buyer to come along and I genuinely don’t think we could have found a more fitting next chapter. 🥹
The wonderful Bec and Ebony from Two Sistas Catering have purchased the business and will be rebranding it as Two Sistas Cafe.
There’s something really special about handing over the keys to another two sisters and knowing that they’re going to continue the dream my mum and aunt had right here in Moe. I’m so excited (and I know that mum and Christine are too) to see what they create and what this next chapter brings for them.
To everyone who has supported Turn Back Time over the years, thank you. Thank you for every coffee, every meal, every catering order, every fundraising donation, every conversation and every bit of support you’ve shown our family.
Thank you for growing alongside us and allowing us to be part of so many moments in your lives.
It’s definitely emotional saying goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life, but I’m also incredibly excited to see what comes next. AND I’m sure you will see us around the shop, as customers 🥰
So please, show Bec and Ebony the same love and support you’ve shown us for the past 14 years that we have been open. Welcome to the next chapter, Two Sistas Cafe. Bec, Ebony (and Jess 😉) I can’t wait to see you make it your own.
