As promised more pictures from last weekends Swiss Festival🇨🇭

This event was a GBQ family affair 👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽 my husband and older son help selling GBQ goodies and son number two was busy running around cuddling those super cute sheep 🐑 and all the dogs 🐶

My doggy treats were a hit, of course!
I have had two dog owner telling me their dogs are the fussiest ever but they smashed my cookies 🥰
Probably because of the crazy amount of tuna I’ve out in lol 😂

Most cookies I gave away for free 😬
Me seeing a dog walk past, grabbing a cookie out of the jar and running behind them… 🏃‍♀️➡️ 🐕
Yelling “Excuse me! Excuse me! Can I feed your puppy?” 🐶

But I made some humans happy too. Met some fans and old work colleagues from my time before I became royalty 👑

Overall it was a fantastic day and I’m already excited for next year 🥳

Two weeks jam packed with events, tastings, classes and god knows what else for you to channel your inner German 🇩🇪

And this year I’m going to be part of it 💪🏻

Yesterday was fun 🤩

My stall at the Swiss Festival in Williamstown 🥨🩷

What a (long) day 😅 woke up at midnight to bake till 7am, packed the car and left at 7.30am.
Festival started at 10am, finished and pretty much sold out at 5pm 🥳

Packed up and home by about 8pm.

Tired as f**k, but happy 😃

Over 100 personalized gingerbreads, Porsche style.

A strawberry & cream cake, Frankfurter Kranz a cake with a story… The cake represents the crown 👑 of a German emperor from back many moons ago.

I haven’t take any pictures of the others cakes but I can confirm the cakes were eaten faster than I could cut them 🤪

From today on I will prepare for the Swiss Festival in Williamstown on Saturday.

Jam packed event from 10am to 5pm. It’s dog 🐶 friendly and I will make dog biscuits too. Human grade tuna flavored 😉 delicious.

Next week I already have a couple of bookings but won’t take any new ones. I need a bit of a break. The last 4 weeks were crazy 🤪

About last week… 🥨🏎️👑

What an absolute honor it was to cater for Porsches open night in Brighton.

And what a team we were 💪🏻 a true Queen team… GBQ catering 👑

We set up two grazing tables, a pretzel bar, soup station and over 100 personalized gingerbreads.

We stayed for service the event, looked after the food, made sure everything got topped up and looked presentable all night.
Served my mum’s bean soup and made sure everyone was happy.

We got sooo many compliments on the food. My favorite one came from a guy and he said “this is amazing. Just really good and honest food!”

And that’s what I do.
Simple is delicious ❤️

And then the cars… OMG one more beautiful then the other 😍 one day when I’m a rich bitch I will get one 😎

This week is another big one… Swiss Festival this Saturday!
Business is going crazy at the moment! But good crazy…

👑🩷 I AM YOUR QUEEN 🩷👑

But who am I really?
Let me take you on a little journey:

I’m definitely not an introvert 😂 I love celebrating myself 🥳
I truly believe that I’m an awesome person. Not perfect, but close 😇

I have always been very confident in my skin. Always loved my life. I’ve had a great childhood growing up in Germany 🇩🇪

We always had animals 🐈‍⬛🦮🐈🐕🐕‍🦺 and when I was 5 or 6 years old I started horse 🐴 riding and have had my own horse 🐎 for many years.

My parents got divorced when I was about 12. My dad turned out to be a bit of a dick 🤷🏼‍♀️ but my Mama did an amazing job raising me and my two brothers all by herself 🫶🏻

I finished school after year 10 and started my apprenticeship at Deutsche Bahn AG, this is the biggest railway company in Germany 🇩🇪 I worked at the station as a customer service officer for 8 years.

And no, I did not call customers “bi***es” back then lol 😂 but I was still great at my job. Always loved to help people.

When I was 24 my husband, our dog Paige and I moved to Melbourne 🇦🇺 the plan was to stay for two years 🙃

When we arrived here my English was terrible, I got headaches listening to conversations trying to translate and working out what to say.

But it didn’t stop me from mixing with the locals.

My first job selling German sausages 🌭 at the Queen VIC night market and other big events.

Then I got into dog 🐶 training and that lead me to my job at Pet Educator in the Responsible Pet Education Program teaching kids in kindergarten and primary schools on how to be safe around dogs.

Then Covid 🦠 f**ked this up 😒 and I started making sourdough during lockdown.

And the rest you all know 🥨

In just a little over 5 weeks it will be 6 years of being your Queen 👑
And I couldn’t be any prouder of myself 🥰
Many have tried doing what I do and gave up 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m still going and I won’t stop!
This is just the beginning… 💪🏻

PART 2 of last weeks catering job 💪🏻

GRAZING TABLE with PRETZEL BAR 🥨
…yes the pretzel bar is now included in every GBQ grazing table.

It’s unique and different and not your average Joe catering 😉

The theme is still Christmas in July so that’s why the sandwiches are round like a Christmas wreath 🎄

Because I bake all the bread, pretzels 🥨 focaccias myself I can totally personalize this for your event. You’re welcome 😇

If you now think “jeezzz our Queen has had a big week”… nope 👎🏻 the biggest events are still ahead

This Friday catering at Porsche in Brighton for 150 people 😍 ahhhh yep 👍🏻 let’s go 💪🏻

And the week after I’m at the Swiss Festival in Williamstown. This is also a bloody big event. Come down and say hi 👋🏻 your can even bring your dog to this event 🦮🐕‍🦺
I can’t wait 😍

And because of these two big events I won’t take any other orders until Wednesday the 12th of August 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh and I’m also bloody excited for my next baking class August the 16th 🥰 it’s fully booked so don’t ask for spots BUT don’t cry, the next one is coming soon after this 😉

CAKE BUFFET because f**k yeah, why not!!!

This set up had it all. A Christmas 🎄 in July themed birthday party with the lot. All the cakes and a grazing table too (will make another post for that).

All the cakes were made by me, including the brownies and gingerbread cookies 🍪

Missing on the table was a Black Forest cake because it was the birthday boys surprise birthday cake 🎂 that was for later to sing 🎶 happy birthday 🎶

I absolutely love the idea of a cake buffet as dessert and I hope the guests of this party have tried all of the cakes.

I know you Aussies aren’t good with eating cake. I always hear “ohhh no don’t cut it too big I just want a small piece” 🫣 this is so f**king annoying!

In Germany 🇩🇪 you always have multiple cakes at a party 🎉 and everyone eats a good size piece of all the cakes 🥰

So you Aussies have some work to do!

German cakes ARE DIFFERENT!!!

They are not overly sweet and full of flavor that isn’t just chocolate or sugar.

So do yourself a favor and don’t be the bloody annoying person next time you have a good proper cake in front of you.
Dig in!!!
