Dormilona’s Tinto Shiraz is our wine for this week’s Sips & Spins. It’s made in a young nuevo style, with minimal intervention, allowing it to express itself completely organically. A smooth drop, tasting of cherries and berries, it finishes with silky smooth tannins.

This week, we’re pairing the Tinto with xx, by the xx. Their eponymous debut album, which dropped in 2009, is commonly held to be one of the best LPs of the decade. Lauded as a “drop-dead gorgeous dream pop symphony,” this minimalist indie record is not one to be missed.

This Sunday we’re pairing it with Nathan Haines “Notes.” After a ten year hiatus, Haines’ most recent release is an effervescent mixture of jazz, soul and dance. An acclaimed saxophonist and producer, Nathan has brought his decades of experience to bear an adroitly curated, 14 track record.

An indelibly cathartic listen - and a perfect Sunday afternoon.
