‘Thank you’ doesn’t quite cover it, but a massive thank you nonetheless to all of you for your immense support on our Grand Reopening weekend. Two weeks of full time prep, gone in two days! A whole night of bread baking flew out the doors in an hour and a half. But more than that, a constant lineup of happy faces that lasted the whole weekend. You are the reason we keep going.

Our first week back was also incredible- basically a continuation of the Grand Reopening! We have tried our absolute best to keep the shop full, but no doubt some of you have visited and found limited options. Trust me that we have been doing everything we can to restock as fast as possible. We’ve been baking away for 16-18 hours every day 😮‍💨 but whenever we go out to add something to the cabinet, the last thing has already made its escape. It’s honestly impressive how fast you guys can make a full shop disappear! 😂 Several times we have not only run out of food, but run out of ingredients to make the food, and even cleared out our suppliers of the ingredients we need to make said food. But we will get on top of things again eventually, and when we do, we will have full cabinets and tables again.

In the mean time, thank you for being so patient, kind and understanding. The bakery has grown but it’s still the same small close knit team keeping it together, and we all feel so humbled and lucky to be a part of such an amazing community.

We are all absolutely hammering to get the shop full of goodies ready for tomorrow!!! It has been 5 months and 1 week since we closed down for Christmas and finally the reopening is here! We hope you’re all as excited as we are 🤩✨

For the grand reopening only we will be opening a little later to get our chickens in a row before the craziness begins. Saturday we will be open 8am-5pm and Sunday 8am-3pm, then regular hours will resume, which are-

Mon & Tues: CLOSED
Wed-Sat: 6am-5pm
Sun: 6am-3pm

IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING 🥳✨🥳✨🥳✨

Final date change (but don’t jinx it- there’s still time for the whole building to burn down, which is about the only thing left that could stop us now)

I’m running out of ways to say I’m so sorry to push the grand opening back once again without sounding like a broken record, but guys it’s for really reals this time 😍 Prep has already begun!

We’re not taking orders for the first week so we can focus on keeping up with demand as much as possible and keeping the cabinets full (or trying very very hard to 😅) so that everyone can experience the new bakery in all it’s baked goods glory ✨

On Monday 8th June we will launch our BRAND NEW ONLINE ORDERING WEBSITE 🤩 I’ll save the details for the later but from this date we can start taking orders again based on prep time- e.g. bread orders will recommence from Wednesday 10th with 1-2 day’s notice, sweets will need a few days’ notice, and cake orders need 1 week’s notice, so the first cake orders will go out on June 17th. The website should automatically calculate the earliest date you can collect your whole order, and from there you can pick a date and time that suits you to collect 🎂🍰🍪🍩🧁🥯🍞

Now- everybody act casual so the universe doesn’t notice we’re trying to open the bakery. Don’t breathe in the wrong direction. Don’t exhale too aggressively and disturb the surrounding air molecules. Don’t make eye contact in case you scare it away. And definitely nobody say anything that’ll summon a new complication. Just be cool. The reopening is approaching slowly like a nervous woodland animal.

SAVE THE DATE 😁🥐🍾🎉

While we were really hoping for a Mother’s Day weekend opening, the final stages (and the usual extra complications) did end up blowing over into this week, which unfortunately meant that wasn’t in the cards.

When we started making our production plan in the hopes of opening in time, it became very clear that we wouldn’t have been able to open at full capacity with less than one week’s prep anyway, which isn’t what we wanted for our grand reopening.

So with that in mind, an official announcement will come once everything is 100% confirmed (juuuuust in case), but…..

BAKERY UPDATE TIME 🤪😵‍💫

Ok sooooOoOoOoOoo I don’t have a date to share with you all yet like we had hoped…. But I promise we’re getting really close! I have some photos to share as payment for your patience (which has been in abundance). Also the knowledge that we are all absolutely pulling our hair out at this stage. Thank you all so very much for sticking with us, your amazing comments and messages really are what have been keeping us going 💖

Check out the photos if you'd like, then read on to see what's on the plan for this week:
-More power & plumbing works in progress
-Roof leaks have been fixed
-Cold room epoxy flooring goes in
-Cold room power connected
-Equipment installation
-Finishing touches & deep clean
-Moving gas line obstruction & cutting in/fitting back door
-Council inspection
-Lots of admin prep- labels, order forms, and a lil secret surprise coming soon
-And a second, much larger surprise (literally) coming to that big white wall on the front of the bakery 🤫 if the rain ever stops!

Where we go from there will depend on the inspection- if we’re given the green light we can start ordering our ingredients and prepping stock ready to reopen (FINALLY 🎉). If there are changes that need to be made we’ll need to fix those up (hopefully nothing major- everybody touch wood!) and book in another inspection.

If we're given the go ahead we are 100% ready to bake our little hearts out next week to open in time for Mother’s Day weekend 🌸💕 But given how the past few months have panned out, we’re cautious of making any promises. We haven’t forgotten about hot cross bun makeup weekend ☺️

We really didn’t want to make this post but it’s time to call it. We’re very sorry to announce that the bakery won’t be open in time for Easter. We definitely gave it our all but it just wasn’t possible. The lead up to Easter is one of our busiest times of the year so we know a lot of people will be disappointed (we were very excited for our first Easter in the new kitchen!) but we’re looking forward to a make-up hot cross bun weekend soon after we reopen 🐰🐣🌸

Happy Easter, enjoy the long weekend and most importantly stay safe! Renovations are nearing the end so hopefully the next post will be for the countdown!!! 🤩

Bakery renovations update 🚧🪚

We’ve had lots of messages asking for an update and ETA so we thought it time to share where we’re at so far 😮‍💨

We had a pretty tight schedule in order to get the bakery back open as early as possible. Unfortunately a couple of setbacks in areas outside of our control have had a domino effect on the rest of our trades. Something gets pushed back a few days later than expected- but then the next trade has other work booked in for that time. So they have to push back later again, and so on down the chain

We’re pushing our hardest to try to be operational in time for Easter. At the moment that is looking like the earliest possible date for reopening. There’s still a lot going on between now and then so nothing is certain

Keep all of your fingers and toes crossed for us! We’re not taking any Easter orders until we can be more confident in our reopening timeframe, but we will let you know either way when we know for sure. Worst case scenario we will have to have a make-up weekend for hot cross buns when we can reopen 🐰

Bakery update! 🤩🤩🤩

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful break and great start to the new year 🥳

It’s time to let you in on our poorly kept secret- All Things Sweet is moving into bigger space (at the same address) and undergoing complete renovations!

What does this mean?

🥐 An inside seating section to enjoy your coffee & treats in comfort
🥐 A small grocery section for GF & allergy friendly goods- pasta, flour, bread crumbs, vegan cheese etc- some made by us, and some items that we use and recommend
🥐 More space to move around comfortably
🥐 Ducted air conditioning!!!
🥐 Brand new (bigger!) cabinets = more food 😍

How will the food options change?

🍩 Bigger range of lunch options (sandwiches, pizzas, focaccias, toasties, croissants) with the option to heat up any frozen meals
🍩 More ready-made meal options in the freezer
🍩 More of the usual goodies- slices, muffins, cakes, tarts, pies etc
🍩 We will have increased capacity for bread, bun & donuts- especially exciting for the busy weekends!
🍩 More exciting weekend specials- think gourmet ice cream, slushes in summer, pulled pork rolls in winter

Every year we look back on how far we’ve come, and every year we’re amazed that we’re still growing, in every sense- a bigger range, new recipes, tweaking and perfecting old favourites, and new customers who have just found the bakery for the first time. We have a wonderful community supporting us every step of the way- and thanks to you all, we can continue to grow and improve

With the bigger shop, wider range and higher demand, we have decided to close the bakery on Mondays & Tuesdays. This is both for the wellbeing of our small team, and to help us bring you the biggest range and best quality product we can. We will still be open 6am-5pm Wednesday-Saturday and 6am-3pm Sundays

We’ll be back soon- all going well we’re hoping mid March! We know it’s a long closure, but unfortunately it’s necessary to get everything done. This is a massive project, but we know it will be worth it in the end and can’t wait to share it with you all

We will share more with you along the way and keep you updated if anything changes, but until then…. get ready for the grand reopening, it’ll be a big one 😎
