The Musician's Cafe has closed due to building conditions and will not be reopening at Kuranda.

The Musicians Cafe was a funky cafe in Kuranda which operated in 2016 to 2017. Although we are now closed, the pictures, videos and photos remain here for historical purposes, to continue to thank and acknowledge the amazing musicians who performed here. Thanks to everyone who supported and came along to the cafe. Jules

1966, The Monkees were at the top of the Billboard singles chart with ‘Last Train To Clarksville’, the group’s first No. 1. Bobby Hart who co-wrote the song got the idea for the lyrics when he turned on the radio and heard the end of The Beatles' 'Paperback Writer'. He thought Paul McCartney was singing "Take the last train", and decided to use the line when he found out McCartney was actually singing 'Paperback Writer'.

1954, The Blue Moon Boys made their live debut appearing on the back of a flatbed truck outside a new drug store for its grand opening in Memphis. The band line up was Elvis Presley Scotty Moore and Bill Black. The name was taken from a song they had recorded just two weeks previously, 'Blue Moon of Kentucky.'

The Managers of The Musician's Cafe have made the decision to close the cafe in the interests of staff and public safety. We hope that the cafe recieves the repairs it requires so that a safe kitchen can operate in the future. On behalf of me and Dave, we'd like to wish everyone in Kuranda well for a brighter future. A big shout out and farewell to our local friends who have supported the cafe since it started. May the road ahead be a great journey. Buy Folks xx

Hi Folks, The Musician's Cafe needs a few days to catch it's breath and may be closed some days this week. We apologise to our fans and locals and hope to be back in the saddle, soon. Watch this space :)
