In the midst of a very busy morning, a family has sadly left poor Bingo behind!

If you were sitting on the deck this morning (Sat 15/8) you may have a sad child who has lost their best friend!

She is safe and warm (and well fed) in Miss Nellie’s office and we have already put her to work 🤣

We are taking a couple of extra days off next week and will be CLOSED 17-20th August. Resume normal trading 8am Friday 21st.

After 14 years of Miss Nellie’s, we have discovered the secret to longevity in hospitality is to make sure we take regular time out to be real people and live a little!

Thanks for your understanding. We are excited about where we are going for the few days and promise to share some pics when we get back!

🎂CUSTOM CAKES

As many of you would be aware, for the past couple of years we have taken a step back from Custom Cakes, simpy due to a lack of hours in the day on top of our regular cafe baking!

Regardless, we have continued to be inundated with requests for cakes and as such reopened our books this year with VERY limited availability (because Miss Nellie doesn’t know how to say NO) 🤣🤣

NB All available spots are now full for August, and we only have a couple left for September and October, so message us ASAP if you wish to enquire about available dates.

Can hardly believe it is the 1st of August! The last 6 weeks have been crazy busy at the cafe and have flown by amidst chilly mornings, sunny days, baking, group bookings, custom cake orders, building works, staff changes and babies arriving!!

I just looked back and realised I hadnt posted on here since mid June when we took a couple of days off to “live” and went on an amazing Whale-watching experience with Portjet Cruises on a perfectly smooth day - 3 or 4 pods of whales breaching mere metres away and then sidling up to the boat to say hi 🐳

We have also started work on Stage 4 of our building repair/restoration and our days off have been spent planning, demolishing and prepping for the new slab - this stage has always been a mental block for me, financially and strategically, but as it unfolds before my eyes the excitement is clearing the fog and I can’t wait to see it come out of the ground!

So that sums up the past few weeks and we can’t thank you enough for visiting us, enjoying our coffee and food and keeping us busy!

That's my Grandma, Jean, on the right with her twin sister, Rene - they would have been 112 today! She would be so proud of Miss Nellie's ❤️
