Some Little Lessons in Hospitality ☕️🤓

We genuinely love every single customer who walks through Lo’s doors. 💚
But if you can spare a little extra time when ordering, it can make a BIG difference to our team and help keep service running smoothly — and, hopefully, avoid unnecessary confusion or conflict. 😅

A few little reminders:

🪿Read the menu — there’s a lot of information there to help you!
🪿Know what you’d like to order — or at least have a little think before you get to the counter.
🪿Double-check your order — once it’s been placed, please make sure everything is correct.
🪿And most importantly… remember that we’re human too. 💚

We’re working hard behind the counter, in the kitchen, making your coffee, cooking your food, washing dishes and trying our best to keep everyone happy.

Hospitality can be fast, messy, stressful and sometimes a little chaotic — but a little patience, respect and kindness goes a VERY long way.

We love looking after you.

Why is Lo’s always hiring?! 👀

Honestly… we don’t want to be! 😂

But running a hospitality business in a regional town comes with its own challenges. Finding the right people, keeping a strong team, and maintaining consistency can be really tough when you’re operating in a regional area.

We’ve been through plenty of ups and downs, but we’re still here, still growing, and still doing our best to create a great place for both our customers and our team. 💚

So yes… we’re hiring again! 😅

But for you, Nancy — you definitely deserve both! 🫶🏻

Even though you don’t get to visit us as often, you have always been one of our biggest supporters. You’ve seen us through some of my harder days, and sometimes just a few caring words from you meant more than you probably realised. 🥹

And we will never forget all the help and support you gave Lo’s when you were working at Woolworths nearby. 🥰 Thank you !

I’d like to take a little time to say goodbye to Kea, (陳依禪) one of our wonderful senior front-of-house team members.🥹

Kea has been with Lo’s for almost a year. She’s from Taiwan, 🇹🇼 just like me, and came to Australia on a working holiday visa.

She’s always been quiet at work, but incredibly focused. Sometimes a little too focused… and I’ve had to tell her, “Kea, hurry up!” 🤪

As I got to know her better and started seeing more of her strengths, I realised how much I could learn from her. In many ways, she also reminded me of my younger self when I first came to Karratha as a backpacker — young, brave, curious, and figuring life out along the way. 🙌

Kea is incredibly talented as an artist, but what I admire most is her courage to chase her dreams and create a life that feels true to who she is.

Keep shining, girl. ✨
Be brave, keep creating, and keep chasing what you believe in.

You will definitely be missed at Lo’s. 💚

Customer of the Month — Gemma! 🍵💚

Yes… we have TWO Customer of the Month winners this month! 😂

We’ve known Gemma since before Lo’s — that’s at least 12 years! She even remembers the Japanese pancake on our first menu in 2018. We honestly can’t believe how long it’s been and how quickly time has gone! 🥰

Gemma doesn’t just come to Lo’s nearly every day — she brings her family too. 💚And whenever we see the whole family gathering at Lo’s, it fills our hearts with so much love and gratitude.

Gemma, we hope you know that when we see you happy, we’re happy too. 🥹

And we’re so sorry… we can’t believe an OG like you has ONLY just been selected as Customer of the Month! How rude! 😂😂

No matter how busy we are, no matter how long the wait is, Chelsea always, always smiles, patiently standing there waiting for her coffee. 🥹💚

We absolutely love seeing families come into Lo’s together. And there’s something extra special about watching your kids grow up, become old enough to have a coffee with you, and make Lo’s part of their everyday life. 🥰

Two months ago, I had the best time celebrating Josh & Yena’s wedding. 💚
(I actually forced Josh to invite me. 😂)

Of course, We met through Lo’s. He is one of our regulars—always ordering an iced latte, finding a quiet corner, and doing his thing. Somehow we started talking , and that corner never quiet again 😂😂!! Then we became friends!

It was such a beautiful and heartfelt day, filled with so much love.

Congratulations again, Josh & Yena! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness. ❤️

SO GRATEFUL TO MEET YOU ALL THROUGH LO’S!

I’ve proudly called Karratha home for the past 15 years, and I’ve been running Lo’s Café here for 9 years. I’ve seen this community grow, and I know how important it is that our region receives the funding and services it deserves.

If you spend 6 months + 1 day of the year in the Pilbara—including FIFO workers—the Pilbara should be listed as your home on Census night.

By taking a few minutes to complete your Census correctly, you’re helping support better healthcare, schools, roads, community facilities, and services for everyone who lives and works here.

Let’s stand up to be counted and make the Pilbara stronger—together.💪💪
