THIS DAY IN KALAMUNDA HISTORY 🏉

📅 27 August 2024 — Celebrating 50 Years of Kalamunda Rugby

Two years ago today, the City of Kalamunda backed a local sporting institution as the Kalamunda Districts Rugby Union Club prepared to celebrate a major milestone — 50 years in our community.

Founded in 1974, the Kalamunda Bulls had grown from their early beginnings into a club encompassing junior, senior and women's rugby.

On 27 August 2024, Kalamunda Council approved $4,200 in support for the club's 50th Anniversary WA Grand Final event at Hartfield Reserve.

And this wasn't going to be a small birthday party.

🏉 Junior and senior WA Rugby Grand Finals
👥 Up to 3,500 people expected
🏆 Clubs travelling from across Western Australia
🎂 And 50 years of Kalamunda rugby to celebrate

The Grand Final day was held on 7 September 2024, bringing WA rugby to Hartfield Reserve as the Bulls marked half a century in their local community.

For generations of players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters, Kalamunda Rugby has been about much more than what happens on the field.

From 1974 to today — more than half a century of the Bulls.
