Inverloch Fish & Chips have often received feedback from our valued customers. We have all ears for the thumbs and criticisms as they are great sources for us to learn and improve - eventually we will serve better food to local residents and tourists. We feel grateful for the support from all of our customers.
We have recently received this piece of review from a customer (anonymous). The customer made a good point for the unsatisfying food - we went through the CCTV footage and found our mistakes when grilling the fish. We took the responsibility on that and offered refund as minor compensation to the mistakes we made.
However we feel more than disappointed for this particular customer accusing that the unsatisfying food was because the ingredients 'clearly came frozen from a packet from Asia'.
We identified two pieces of information out of this review:
1. International ingredients, especially those from Asia, are inferior.
2. Restaurants failed in providing satisfying food were just because they sourced ingredients from Asia.
We understand the customer's frustration for not getting a proper dinner. However we feel disappointed because it is not fair to attribute our mistakes in the kitchen to the other side of world. We believe this is a rare scene when arrogance went over rationale.
Inverloch Fish & Chips stand on the glorious name of Inverloch, we strive to behave as a good citizen and do good to our community with our minor strength. We continuously pursue equality & plurality. This is why we are having staff members from diversified backgrounds, offering learning opportunities for teenagers, and creating more job opportunities for the local area.
We also have straight and strict codes of conduct for responsible sourcing. Only the seafood products complying with Victoria Fisheries Authority's (VFA) sustainable requirements are eligible for taken into our shop. Meanwhile, all of our suppliers are local from Gippsland because it helps local economy to get robust. These conducts just align with what to our belief is right to do, even not always at the best financial results.
On other words, we did not source ingredients that 'came frozen from a packet from Asia' primarily because they were lacking of responsibility certificates, but not because they were assumed inferior.
Managing food quality is our priority. Anyway it makes no excuses for us to prepare an unsatisfying dinner - lesson learnt and we will make it right.
Out of disappointment and frustration, we are beyond what a restaurant should do by posting this story. We sincerely thank you for your time reading. Tiny efforts matter when making this world better οΌοΌ
