Today we received a very long one-star review.
First of all, thank you for deciding not to return — because after reading your review, I’m quite sure Kozy is probably not the right place for you either.
As we were approaching closing time, our staff had already started cleaning and stacked the chairs up. Despite this being a clear indication that the area was being closed and cleaned, you chose to sit on loaded of stacked chairs while we were cleaning and mopping. Our staff kindly asked you not to sit on the stacked chairs, then you start yelled toward our kitchen asking whether our chef was “sleeping in there” because you felt the wait was too long. Sitting on a chair that had already been stacked up also creates an unnecessary risk of the chair being damaged or someone being injured.
For context, our order record shows that your two bánh mì were prepared and handed to you in approximately 11 minutes. The customer who arrived after you had only ordered one drink, which naturally took much less time to prepare.
Our food is made fresh to order. We are not a fast-food or grab-and-go shop, and we do not consider 11 minutes unreasonable for two freshly prepared meals.
You are absolutely entitled not to like our food. But personal opinion is one thing; presenting assumptions as facts is another.
You mentioned a supermarket mayonnaise brand that we do not use, described ingredients that were not in your food, and repeatedly compared our bánh mì with “traditional Vietnamese bánh mì”, even though we clearly describe ours as a fusion bánh mì roll on the menu.
Different does not automatically mean bad.
What bothered me most was your comment about Lightning. You saw him briefly and assumed he was tied outside all day and said he is old dog. You do not know his routine, how we care for him, or how loved he is by our family and customers.
We will always listen to fair feedback and improve where needed. But when a review contains incorrect information, assumptions, and disrespect toward our staff, I don’t believe a business owner has to remain silent.
So thank you for your review — and genuinely, thank you for deciding not to return.
Kozy will keep doing what we believe in, keep improving, and keep standing up for our staff, our family, and Lightning .
