🌟I was born in Brisbane and grew up on my parents farm my Father Graham Thomas and late Mother Jean Thomas. The farm was located 17km south of Boonah QLD. I’am the middle child with an older brother Jay and younger sister Melissa. We bred stud cattle “Fassifern Limousin Stud”as well as Australian Kelpies “Bullenbong Kelpies” one of the oldest bloodlines in Australia. It was no flash city wine and dinning lifestyle, weekends were spent working hard on the farm with Mum and Dad, rock picking ,tree planting, cattle work ,preparation for bull sales and stud cattle shows and daily chores. We mixed our own grain mixes proudly grown by Dad for the show cattle, my brother grew pumpkins and watermelons and sold them at the front gate for pocket money which he proudly flash around :) and it was a great honest life, motorbikes, horses, fresh milk, pigs and cattle, an upbringing that I’am truly grateful for and to this day still hold those family traits close.
This clip I filmed last Wednesday at the Best of Queensland Day Awards at the Story Bridge Hotel in Brisbane has brought all those early memories flooding back for me. Wally Lewis is the KING of rugby league and I have the best memories of the family and I sitting around the fireplace in the house on the farm cheering on Big Wally Lewis as he tears up the footy field and the QLD State of Origin Team! Such awesome memories.
Surreal to think as I filmed this that this very man the KING of rugby league many years later is eating our RAD Rolled Ice Cream and loving every last drop as we are awarded for the second year running Best Ice Cream in QLD. Hard work really does pay off.An absolutely amazing day and memory, thank you Wally Lewis and all of our supporters, we are truly grateful.
