As the dust settles and we’ve finally had a chance to catch our breath and post this...
Over the last week, there was a lot of sorting through cupboards and finding things we forgot we owned. There was lots of cleaning. There were tears, hugs, plenty of goodbyes, and a surprising amount of footy during the closing sale. And yes, there may have been a few farewell mezcals involved.
We somehow condensed what felt like weeks worth of work into just a few days, but there is absolutely no way we could have done it without our team and supportive friends.
The thing we’ve been thinking about most this past week is the people. The people who stayed back after shifts. The people who came in on their days off. The people who turned up ready to lift, clean, organise, sort, move, sell, and do whatever needed doing. To everyone who helped us close this chapter, thank you.
A cafe is never just the people who own it — it’s the people who turn up every day and make it what it is.
To every staff member who has been part of Morrisons team over the last 10 years, thank you.
To our current team, thank you for helping us finish this chapter on a high note — surrounded by good people and a lot of laughter. Through it all, we felt incredibly supported and loved.
To our customers, thank you for every coffee, every conversation, every kind word, every card, and every memory.
And a special mention to Roshan — ten years. Day one to the final day. If you’ve eaten at Morrisons, chances are you’ve enjoyed something yummy he’s made. Thank you for being part of the decade of journey.
The Morrisons cafe chapter might be over, but we’ll be taking a lot of friendships, memories, and stories with us into whatever comes next.
