Located in the back streets of Fitzroy for over 140 years, about 50 metres from the thriving hub that is Brunswick Street, this hidden beauty stands tall and proud as one of Melbourne’s oldest and friendliest pubs. Now open 7 days a week, the King brothers have introduced a new twist to a classic venue, with over 100 beers from here and around the world available. Come on in to sample our fine selection of beers, try the wonderful cooking of our chef, Dan Gamboni, enjoy the fantastic live bands we have playing, or just bring a bunch of mates for a beer and a game of pool in our massive beer garden.

There’s some seriously good stuff coming out of the Rainbow's kitchen…
🐟 Grilled swordfish w crispy potatoes, peperonata, olives & basil oil
🥙 Lamb shawarma pita w shredded lettuce, tomato, pickled onion, garlic yoghurt & hot sauce, served w fries
And that’s just the start — beef bourguignon, ricotta & spinach gnudi, katsu curry bowls, garlic & chilli prawns and asparagus & Gruyère croquettes are all joining the party.

It’s a cracking warm spring day, tomorrow’s a public holiday, and the weekend is looking pretty bloody good at The Rainbow.

TODAY
We’re open from 3pm, with Happy Hour 3–6pm — $5 pots, $10 pints and $8 house wines. If you’re lucky enough not to be working tomorrow, tonight seems like a pretty good time to get the weekend started.

FRIDAY – PUBLIC HOLIDAY
We’re open from 12pm. Come down for a long lunch, a few arvo b**rs or settle in for the evening.

🏉 SATURDAY – AFL GRAND FINAL DAY
Freo v Brisbane — LIVE & LOUD across the pub.

Doors open at 12pm — and if we can get them open a little earlier, we will.

Then from 4–7pm, Jules Boult presents The Redeemers, live in the Main Bar.
