15 years of roasting Indonesian coffee. 4 years ago, Budi finally made it to the farms. 🖤

"It's a totally different experience meeting these producers. The most beautiful thing is seeing how their lives are being positively impacted — knowing the roaster who roasts their coffee and does it justice, I think that means a lot to them."

For Budi, Indonesian specialty coffee has always been personal. A connection back home. A chance to showcase what the origin is truly capable of. And now, with direct relationships with producers across West Java and more regions on the horizon, ASLAN Coffee is just getting started.

Meet Java Halu, this month's featured filter coffee from ☕

Grown high up on Mount Halu in West Java, Indonesia, this washed single origin is the work of producer Teh Rani. A Q Grader and passionate advocate for sustainable processing, she uses an ancient honey process technique to minimise water usage without compromising on quality.

The result is a light roast Indonesian specialty coffee that's as smooth as it is sweet. In your cup you're getting notes of green apple, honey, banana and caramel. A really beautiful and unique coffee that we're so excited to share with you this month.

Meet the Merchants Blend — this month's featured espresso from . ☕️

As with all things ASLAN, Indonesian specialty coffee sits at the core, blended alongside Ethiopia and Yunnan, China. The result? A smooth, rich dark chocolate with a nuttiness balanced by sweet notes of stone fruit. The perfect base for your morning flat white.

The name ASLAN wasn't something we overthought. 🦁

Drawn to the image of a lion, something with strength and presence, "lion coffee" didn't quite feel right. ASLAN came from The Chronicles of Narnia, where the character carries a sense of strength, guidance, and quiet authority. It also means "lion" in Turkish, which is something they came to appreciate over time.

For Budi and the team, the name found its place naturally. Bold and complex like their Indonesian specialty coffee, but also open, grounded, and welcoming. Exactly how they try to show up every day.
