Our menu celebrates the sharing tradition of Sri Lankan cuisine, blending recipes from Amma’s (Mum's) kitchen with playful snacks inspired by Sri Lanka’s vibrant street food culture and a few Sydney twists. Colombo Social is a social enterprise kitchen, serving up soulful Sri Lankan food and vibrant cocktails while providing employment opportunities, practical experience and training for people seeking asylum.

At Colombo Social, the story always starts with short eats.

For Shaun, they’re a trip down memory lane. Growing up, every party with his mum started the same way: a table full of short eats, passed around before anything else hit the table.

Those memories have followed him all the way to Colombo Social. The dishes have evolved, but the feeling hasn’t.

And of course, there’s the goat pan roll. If you know, you know. Crispy on the outside, packed with spiced goat inside, and one of those dishes that tells you exactly where this menu came from.

We know you came for the curry, but don’t sleep on everything that comes before it.

Goat Curry Pan Rolls with katta hot sauce, Sticky Lamb Ribs glazed with tamarind, Potato Scallops dusted in Lankan chicken salt and Hot Butter Octopus with prawn and chilli sambol.

Consider it the warm-up. 🇱🇰

A meal can change the course of a child’s day.

Shaun’s mum, Shiranie, is originally from Sri Lanka’s East Coast, so this part of the country has always meant a lot to his family. Going back, meeting the kids and seeing firsthand the challenges they face really hit home.

For some families, the choice can be between sending their child to school or making sure they have enough to eat. That became the foundation for Harvest²: making sure school kids can get a nutritious meal every day.

Together with Dilmah Tea and the MJF Charitable Foundation, the program now feeds more than 2,700 children each day across rural schools on the East Coast, while creating paid work for female farmers and local mothers.

Food here is more than food. It’s care, dignity and showing these kids that they matter.

A good Sri Lankan curry deserves a big scoop of rice and something to mop up all that sauce.

Grab some roti, add a hopper if you know what’s good for you, get a few curries in the middle and share the lot.

In a Sri Lankan home, dhal is the kind of dish that’s always somewhere on the table.

Warm, comforting and made to be scooped up with rice or roti, it’s the food you grow up eating and somehow never get tired of.

Ours is Amma’s Dhal. No explanation necessary.

Each weekend, we bring a little taste of Sri Lanka to Enmore with our Sri Lankan High Tea, created together with our friends at Dilmah. 🇱🇰

The table is filled with sweet and savoury Sri Lankan bites alongside Dilmah teas, and for every High Tea enjoyed, 10 meals are donated through Harvest² to help feed children across Sri Lanka’s East Coast.

Saturdays & Sundays, 12–4pm.

If there’s one thing we know, it’s a good Sri Lankan curry. 🇱🇰

Goat Curry, Village Style Chicken Curry, Amma’s Dhal, plenty of rice and sambol on the side. Get a few for the table and try a bit of everything.

That’s how we like to do it.

Our Softshell Crab Roti Taco has become a bit of a Colombo icon: crispy softshell crab, papaya salsa, pol sambol and chilli mayo tucked into warm roti.
