Hungarian food is acclaimed for its wonderful flavours worldwide, and in the tradition of the classic Hungarian restaurant, our menu has an enormous range of Hungarian, European and modern fare. Of course you’ll get an amazing Goulash, but you can also look forward to dishes like Stuffed Capsicum, Eye Fillet Budapest and our famous schnitzels. Our bar features a wonderful range of pálinkas; pure f

ruit brandies imported from countries including Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro and France. We stock a wide variety of European beers, local and Hungarian wines, and spirits. So whether you’re up for a quiet drink, or a big night out, you’ll be sure to enjoy yourself. Our head chef, Viktor Sallay, is a native of Budapest, Hungary. He has over twenty years cooking experience in a variety of cuisines including Hungarian, Russian, Italian and Modern Australian. He was head chef at the Brighton Savoy Hotel. He then ran Melbourne’s most famous Hungarian kitchen at the Newmarket Hotel in St. Kilda which was frequently reviewed and recommended in newspapers and on the radio. Now, together with his partner, David Buchler, he aims to bring to Melbourne an authentic Hungarian menu in a warm, casual and friendly environment. We have a large selection of vegetarian and gluten free dishes that are all clearly marked on our menu. We also offer a discounted Happy Hour every night and LiveGypsy Music on the first Tuesday of every month.

While I started it myself, family is at the very heart of everything we do here.

​This booth is dedicated to my grandfather, Leo.

He lived to a remarkable 109 years old and dined here every single week until he was 108! To honor his legacy, we created Leo’s Corner—complete with a plaque and a wall filled with cherished family photos. 📸🍷
