In the words of Atomic Kitten “The tide is high, but I’m holding on. I’m gonna be your number one”.

Some drinks are sensible. This is not one of them. It’s the sort of thing that makes 2pm on a Tuesday feel like you’ve accidentally clocked off for the week.

We can’t quite sort your work week, but we can get fairly close with dark rum, light rum, Malibu, Cointreau, orgeat, pineapple and lime.

It’s bright, boozy, tart, a little nutty, plenty tropical and dangerously easy to keep drinking. Basically sunshine, holidays and questionable decision-making in a glass.

Cheaper than a holiday, and much easier to organise.

ONE WEEK TO GO

Oktoberfest kicks off at the Denmark Hotel next Monday, with a full week of schnitzels, steins, pork knuckles, pretzels, sausages and a fair bit of carrying on.

Saturday’s the big one, with our Oktoberfest Long Table Lunch, Dinner and festivities. Big German-inspired sharing platters will be available for 2 people at $85 or 4 people at $170.

Bookings are recommended for Saturday, especially if you’re planning on getting stuck into a platter.

And we’re not quite done yet. More events and bits and pieces will be announced throughout the week.

Steins encouraged. Lederhosen optional. Come hungry.

Finals footy, a few b**rs and a chance to win a decent haul while you’re at it.

Grab a passport from the bar and collect a stamp with any purchase in the bar, bistro or bottleshop each finals weekend.

Fill it up and go in the draw for a $100 Denmark Hotel voucher, a mixed six of Great Southern wines and a carton of b**r.

Get your passport back to the bar crew by the end of the Grand Final on September 26th. Winners drawn after the game.

And yes, we know the Eagles merch is a little misplaced. They made the finals in our hearts.
