Trial run is in 👕☕

The first round of our Sticks & Grinds Café shirts have landed and we’re taking them for a spin.

Front logo, back logo, simple, clean and built around what we’re about — Coffee • Catering • Community.

Now the real question…
👉 YAY or NAY?
Would you rock one?
Should we make these available for the locals?

📞 We’re back online!

It’s been brought to our attention that our phone line here at Sticks & Grinds Café has been out of action for close to a week. After tracking it down, we found the issue came back to a power fault on our end.

The good news — it’s all sorted and we’re now back up and running again.

Apologies to anyone who’s tried to call through during that time and couldn’t get hold of us. Thanks for your patience and understanding ☕💛

From the crew at Sticks & Grinds Café…

Our regulars have been looked after, the Tuesday morning breakfast and brunch rush is done and dusted, and it’s time for us to pull stumps a little early today.

We’ve got some important family matters that need our attention this afternoon, so we’re closing up early to take care of what matters most.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by this morning and kept us moving — your support never goes unnoticed.

We’ll reset, regroup, and be back at it from 7am tomorrow morning ready to do it all again.

See you at the café.

Happy Monday from the Sticks & Grinds crew ☕️

A new week is here and we’re rolling in from 7am ready to do what we do best.

Mondays and Tuesdays are usually our quieter days, so we’ll be making the most of that with a little rest, restock and reset happening behind the scenes.

With some important family matters also needing our attention, we may be pulling stumps a little earlier than usual across today and tomorrow — so if you’re planning to swing by, we’d love to see you sooner rather than later.

Sometimes the best way to keep the wheels turning is to slow down just enough to make sure everything is where it needs to be.

Thanks for understanding and for always backing your local crew.

See you from 7am 💛

With so much happening around the community this weekend, Bossman’s made the call to pull stumps early today.

After a morning that absolutely blew our expectations out of the water, we’re calling it a win and wrapping up on a high.

To everyone who rolled through, grabbed a coffee, a feed, shared a laugh or kept that pay-it-forward board ticking over — thank you.

Days like today remind us why we keep showing up.

Enjoy your weekend, support the local events, and we’ll reset, restock and do it all again tomorrow morning from 7am.

See you at the café.

From the moment we opened this morning, the vibe felt different.

Usually it takes a few hours for the day to find its feet… but today? It was on from the get-go.

And then came one of those moments that reminds us what this place is all about.

A woman walked in, placed just shy of $20 on the counter, looked at the coffee girl and simply said:
“Put that on the board.”

No fuss. No spotlight. Just kindness.

That pay-it-forward board keeps moving because of people like that — everyday locals backing everyday locals.

It might seem like a small gesture, but around here it means everything.

There’s a new wave building… and you can feel the momentum.

Locals helping locals. That’s how we’ve always done it.

See you at the café.

Feel Good Friday just keeps delivering.

This morning Luke from Steel Horse Transport & Towing rolled in and said, “I want to help.”

After hearing about the local woman who lost her home in a fire, Luke put $50 on the table to help lighten the load.

Bossman’s response?

“Nah mate… I’m matching that.”

Just like that, $100 closer.

This is what community looks like.
No big speeches. No spotlight chasing.
Just locals helping locals when life hits hard.

To Luke — respect.
To everyone backing this family — every bit counts ❤️

Today we received a message that stopped us in our tracks.

Earlier this morning, someone quietly used our Pay It Forward Board. They later reached out to tell us they had recently lost their home in a fire.

They admitted they felt a little embarrassed taking a note from the board, but they had been desperately craving a coffee and right now there are far more important things to spend money on than little luxuries.

That's exactly why this board exists.

Not because everyone needs a hand every day, but because sometimes life throws something completely unexpected your way.

Today it was a coffee.

Tomorrow it might be a meal.

For someone else, it might simply be knowing that their community cares.

To the person who used the board today, thank you for trusting us enough to share your story.

And to every single person who has ever added a coffee, meal or act of kindness to this board, please know that your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of people you'll probably never meet.

This is what community looks like.

A little moment that made us smile yesterday...

We had a delivery order come through for a coffee heading all the way into Townsville City.

Now, we're pretty sure the city isn't short on cafés, so for someone to choose a coffee from our little corner of Deeragun and have it delivered all that way certainly caught our attention.

Even the delivery driver stopped to mention just how far it was travelling.

Moments like that remind us that every coffee we make matters. Whether you're sitting in our café, grabbing one on the run, or ordering from the other side of Townsville, we're incredibly grateful you choose us.

To whoever placed that order—thank you for making our day and for proving that great coffee is worth the trip. ☕❤️
