🥩 STEAK NIGHT FOR A CAUSE

This Wednesday's Steak Night has a bigger purpose - $20 from every steak sold goes straight to MND research, with steaks sponsored by Daylesford Meat Co.

There's a fundraiser raffle too, with serious prizes: a Husqvarna 122C trimmer ($399, thanks Daylesford Mower Shop), a ute load of firewood from Gordon Chapman, and a slab of Loveshack.

It's all in support of local legend Nigel Howard, who heads off from Daylesford on Thursday on the MND Beast Challenge - 16,000km around Australia raising funds and awareness for MND research and honouring legends of our forestry industry. Nigel will be there on the night with the bike, so come have a yarn before he hits the road! 🍻

The Community Raffle kicks off at 5:30pm tonight, drawn at 7.

This month, 100% of ticket sales goes to Words In Winter, the beloved volunteer-led literary festival returning to Daylesford and Hepburn later this month for its 24th year.

Tonight's prizes include our meat tray and a rotating lineup of local goodness.

And while you're in, Adrian Deakin is on the piano in Bar Bamford tonight too.

Supper Club by Beppe Kitchen + Bar returns Thursday 13 August. Risotto night:

Aperitivi, chef's selection
Risotto ai funghi, with optional fresh shaved truffle
Fennel and orange salad
Torta Tenerina

$55 a testa. Two sittings, 5:30pm and 7:30pm in Bar Bamford. The last one filled the room twice over, so don't sit on it.

Tonight is a double header at the DH!

First: Steak Night. 300g Greenfields striploin from just down the road in Malmsbury, served with a glass of wine for $35. The midweek tradition that makes Wednesday worth the trip.

Then: Okey Dokey Karaoke, moved forward to tonight. Matt Colin on the mic in Bar Bamford from 7pm, free entry.

Steak from 5pm, songs from 7. See you in there. 🎤

Okey Dokey Karaoke is back in Bar Bamford next Thursday 6 August.

Doors 6pm, songs from 7pm. Free entry, and the fire will be going.

Steak Night at the DH | Every Wednesday from 5pm

A rotating cut of quality beef served with mixed leaf, chippies, your choice of sauce, house mustards, and a glass of house wine. $35

This week's steak: Altair Wagyu | Flap Steak 250g

Altair's grass-fed Wagyu is built on three things | genetics, grass, and time. Carefully selected Tajima Wagyu bloodlines raised across Tasmania, Gippsland, and the Limestone Coast of South Australia. Regions chosen for their year-round rainfall, volcanic soils, and ideal growing conditions. Cattle raised slowly, in a relaxed environment, well beyond the timeline of typical beef production.

The flap steak | also known as bavette | has an open, loose grain with natural marbling that makes it juicy and tender without much help. Bold flavour, good texture, and a cut that rewards anyone who knows to slice across the grain.

Tonight's house mustards | stout mustard and thyme and fennel.

Steak Night | Every Wednesday from 5pm | Walk ins only.
