Oh Discovery nightclub you crazy bastard
Where do I start with you

Once I been kicked out of the VIC
And I do mean bouncers throwing you down that hard steep stairs it was time to try Discovery
Back in 1999 all the AJs knew to stay away from the bar on the left
That was the greek boys area
We didnt need to start fights with them
Stick to the right bar and dance to that song 2 times (anyone know the one ?)
4am just outside there was the best hotdog van ever with sauerkraut

Then in 2000 after our return from East Timor 5/7 booked the entire club for the craziest night of partying and de compression

The hookers ball ever year
Boomfunk MCs
I think Ice Cube
Waiting 45 mins for black sambuca shots
The dancing to Kylies "Cant get you outta my head" to Eminems 2 trailer parks girls then finishing to Daft Punks one more time

Now an end of an era, works for me im in bed by 9pm now
Thank you Discovery for the laughs, hangovers and hotdogs of the early 2000s

In 2023, I was proud to be a finalist in the Australian of the year Awards, Local Hero category for my support of our veteran community.
Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting more incredible local heroes who work tirelessly to make our community a better place. This photo is of us all together
Our community is full of people doing extraordinary things for others. If you know someone who goes above and beyond, make sure you nominate them for the 2027 Australia Day Awards. Let's recognise the people who make a real difference every day

What an awesome weekend at Mt Bundy Station with Australian Kookaburra Kids and the children of our defence/veteran families
Seeing the smiles and friendships formed over the weekend was a reminder of just how important these programs are to us
I'm glad the Government reconsidered and continued funding for this vital organisation in the budget. After seeing firsthand, it's clear that Kookaburra Kids plays an essential role in supporting the wellbeing of our young people.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the weekend such a success.

Today was the biggest turnout of veterans we ever had at Mad Snake
They took over entire cafe
There was a entire section of ex 3 RAR
We got to watch Tommo sharpen knives like a viking
Good to see Princess Leia, a true veteran of the Hoth Wars
Thanks to NTG for covering the free coffees and were joined by the Veterans Minister Jinson Anto Charls

I’ve got a pretty good understanding of the power of social media....the good, the bad the ugly
I could make a post right now expressing anger about treatment of veterans, crime or how hard it is to run a business or act like the professionals do and pick on a minority group and blame them for housing problems
It would probably get around 50,000 reach, 250 reactions, and dozens of comments it will be shared and give me 5 mins of fake fame
That could be a instant dopamine hit and boost my page followers
But sadly, it would also trigger people, upset people, and probably do very little positive for the majority reading it.
It will cause more division in a divided country

Now if I post about my garden like this awesome flower that grew over weekend or how good the dry season has been, or my new love for revamping old furniture, I’ll get maybe half the response
But it spreads joy
It spreads positivity even hope
Maybe it even makes someone smile
I mean thats why I do it.
There are so many nasty pages now
So many people chasing fake reach by spreading hate and outrage
Even good podcasters are leaning into negativity because it gets more clicks
Some politicians use this fear and division to win votes and sadly its working

Maybe I’m old school
Maybe this is just the world we live in now.
But I still believe you and I have a responsibility to make the world a little better.
I’m not saying life is perfect.
I’m not pretending people aren’t struggling
But if you’re a leader, spread hope
We the people want inspiration right now
If you’re chasing that online hit maybe try positivity instead, post a flower
