Hi !!
Quite a simple posting this week starting with a simple question ……

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BEING OUR :
DELIVERY DRIVER ?

I’ve been doing these myself for the past few months but I realise I need to spend more time inside the restaurant .
The Job :
A few hours each week on 4 evenings dropping off our food orders to local customers , whilst being part of what we think is a very friendly team at Formosa .

Massaman Chicken Curry 🌶️

The succulent pieces of chicken are marinated then slow cooked and stirred into our own Massaman curry sauce ready to serve with a top sprinkling of cashew nuts.
Absolutely ‘Yummy’ and a perfect meal for these colder evenings .

Hi folks,
There’s not much to report on for this week as far as the restaurant goes other than to say that winter has well and truely arrived with a noticeable drop in the evening’s temperatures. I did manage to turn the Dining Room into a sauna last Thursday setting the thermostat to 35 degrees ( not 25)…OPPs ❗️
Apologies to the diners 😱
I’ve since been to the opticians for a new glasses prescription 👓
The news update on a ‘Special’ offering for the next Two Weeks is that another meal that hasn’t featured for over a year ,or so returns …..
Available from tonight we have :

Hi Folks ,
Well , Winter is upon us and already I’m feeling a chill in the evenings . I do drive out to make some of our ordered home deliveries and so I’ve noticed a definite drop in ‘temps’ over the past few weeks. It’s getting dark earlier ; it’s colder as I’ve said and there’s been some heavy rain falling. All to be expected , I suppose.
And so to help make the ‘Winter weather blues’ more tolerable ,food wise we’re keeping the current ‘ Special’ offering going for the time being :
Cantonese Style Beef Noodle Soup

A warming bowl of broth with slow cooked pieces of Beef complimented by Bok Choy and Carrots and of course a generous portion of Noodles.
We had some great feed back from customers who tried and loved it last week, so give it a go !

Hi folks,
I was thinking , as I do sometimes 🤔
“ Maybe it’s about time I washed the car ? “
And then I thought …with this cold ; wet weather that’ll be a waste of my time .💦🚙💦
But what wouldn’t be a waste of Your time would perhaps to be ordering our new ‘Special’ offering .
It’s not been featured I realised tonight for nearly TWO years and so with hot ; hearty meals

Hi Folks ,
Hopefully you’ve all had a good week and are looking forward to a restful weekend.
As for the restaurant… it’s been a comparatively quiet week so far but ‘Dine In’ reservations are looking good so it looks like I’ll get a chance to chat to some customers at least ( without interrupting them too much I hope ) 😱.

CRISPY PEKING BEEF

Battered beef is wok stir fried together with green beans ; capsicum and onion and then coated in Dad’s own Peking Sauce.
I’ve been told by Mark that some of my weekly updates ‘go on a bit ‘ so this week’s is a shortened one ,

Hello there,
We do hope you’ve had a great time this week and that you got to enjoy a lovely Mother’s Day weekend , last weekend . For us at the restaurant it was a very busy time and we sincerely hope that for those of you that chose to ‘dine in’ or order a ‘take away’ meal that you enjoyed our food. As I just mentioned it was really a hectic time , particularly on the Sunday and we Thank You All for placing your meal requirements with us and for the patience that some of you needed before receiving your order. 👏👏👏
Admittedly, with some bias, I’m going to say now that I admire the effort that the people in the kitchen and in our front of house have to put in on ‘Special Occasion’ services. From the time we ‘Open’ to the Close of taking orders they literally do not stop for a moments break .
It’s an exhausting cooking and service time.
And so ,we therefore have to give a BIG Shout Out to YOU our incredible customers for your support and for the encouragement you bestow upon us continually. It is truely humbling and appreciated , particularly during these challenging times that many businesses are experiencing.
This is our “Class of ‘26 “ that we’ve put together and I ,for one think they are an incredible mob , but then as I said , I’m bias.

Today we roll into the weekend’s start and we have already had a lot of ‘Dine in’ reservations for the next Three evenings . There are tables available for tonight and tomorrow and we have a couple of tables ( for 4 ppl ) still up for grabs on Sunday .

Hi folks ,
Ok , so I’m going to ask the question ..
Where’s the TIME gone ?
It’s MAY already !!! 😱
It seems like only a few weeks ago I was taking the Chrissy decorations down.
We’ve had , Australia Day ; the Easter break and all that happens during that celebration ; School holidays ; Easter Show and just last weekend it was Anzac weekend. So much gone on ….
And now : MOTHER’S DAY weekend is approaching VERY SOON.. We say ‘Weekend’ because over the past years at Formosa we’ve seen the trend develop that this wonderful celebration of our Mums isn’t reserved for just Sunday 10th. It’s spread now over the three evenings of the weekend.
Because of this spread we will ONLY be offering an EVENING service on the Sunday .
( Dine In / Take Away & Delivery)
Dine In reservations have already been made for the Sunday and so if your plan could be to
Dine In at our little restaurant we’d suggest making a booking ASAP.

Hi Folks,
This weekend on Saturday we are able to share in the Remembrance of our Service People of the Past and take the opportunity to Thank those who Currently serve to preserve the safety and peace in this beautiful homeland of ours..
We would like to particularly pay a tribute to those gallant boys who served in WW1 who gave their all and did not return. They are many amongst many more who have given their lives in other war times.
We are reminded by the following :

“This day of days again we keep In memory of those who sleep
Forever by the quiet sea
Away in far Gallipoli.
'Tis Anzac Day! 'Tis Anzac Day!
OH, soldier comrades far away

Hi Folks,
Lovin’ this weather , aren’t you !!
The solar panels at home are soaking up the sun ( free power 💕) and the batteries are full …
As are we at the restaurant. With our personal batteries fully charged we’re ready to meet the orders from returning families after the Easter break away. Schools are back next week and we’ve noticed the Barbers in our little shopping hub are busy with schoolies getting their ‘return’ haircuts. Always a sign of people coming back to the Currans Hill area.
