WHY ORGANIC? Part 3.

Benefits the environment

- Organic farming encourages biodiversity. A rich mix of microorganisms, plants, and animals on the farm creates healthy soil, strong crops, and resilient natural systems that don’t require chemical intervention to manage pests and diseases.

On the contrast, through the use of toxic pesticides and herbicides and reliance on monocultures, conventional farming eliminates biodiversity. These methods don’t just kill native species and harm local ecosystems—they make conventional farms extremely vulnerable to new pests and diseases. All it takes is one strong threat to wipe out an entire planting of a single crop if no other species or system is present to curb the damage.

In organic production, overall system health is emphasized. This means that everyone (humans and wildlife) and everything (soil, water, air, crops) around it will benefit from it.

At Kinyana Kitchen, we believe this is of the utmost importance, to support sustainable practices everywhere possible to create a healthy planet and therefore healthier human beings. That is why we make our food from scratch as much as possible, why all our food is 100% organic, and why we try and reduce waste production as much as we can.

Choose Kinyana Kitchen and support yourself and our beautiful planet!

WHY ORGANIC? Part 2.

More nutritious!

- Organic food are filled with nutrients like vitamins, minerals, proteins, fibre etc. The biggest contributor to create healthy plants, is to grow them in healthy soil. Our plants need nutrient rich soil full of life to be able to produce the nutritional values in its food.

Using chemicals and pesticides on the plants and the soil will eventually kill all the life in the soil, which leads to less nutrition in the food. It is pretty straight forward, if there is no life in the soil, where will the plants draw all the nutrition from?

Studies on Tomatoes specifically, has shown that an organic grown tomato can contain up to 19,000 (!) times the amount of iron compared to a non-organic grown tomato. Shocking!

The feeling you get after eating a 100% organic, freshly cooked meal, as opposed to eating fast food or even home cooked processed food, is so different. Whilst processed food makes us feel tired and bloated, organic home cooked meals makes us feeling energised, full, and nourished. We believe that food that comes from loving conditions, whether it is healthy soil or a healthy happy animal, will transform that love into us and make us feel great!

WHY ORGANIC? Part 1.

We pride ourselves to deliver a product that always is made with 100% organic ingredients.

Our number 1 reason for this is:

Organic sourced food is Free from chemicals: Organic farmers rely on natural processes, biodiversity, and cycles adapted to local conditions rather than the use of synthetic inputs like chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Unfortunately, pesticide residue can stick to produce, even after it has been washed, resulting in human consumption.

By eating organic, you will reduce the amount of food additives you consume, which will improve your overall health.

From our own experience, since switching to organic produce some 10 years ago, we have seen huge benefits to our overall health, such as:
- Feeling more energised and less bloated after eating
- Being able to catch a sickness coming at an early stage, and therefore able to help prevent it.
- Reduce the amount of times being sick per year and being sick for shorter periods.

REDUCING WASTE

Being conscious about the waste we produce is very important to us at Kinyana Kitchen. Therefore we do our best to reduce and reuse the waste that we create by cooking your meals.

Below are a few of the things that we do to make sure we reduce our waste, and also give back to our mother earth.

- No single-use plastic packaging: We use reusable packaging for all our products which over time will have a huge impact on how much waste we produce as a business.
- Buying in bulk : To further reduce waste, we plan our menus long way ahead so we can buy most of our “dry” ingredients in bulk which helps reduce excess waste like packaging and food miles.
- Naked foods: To the extent it is possible, we choose naked produce over packaged every day of the week.
- Composting or reusing food waste: All our food waste goes straight into our composting systems which in turn helps to feed our veggie and herb garden, helping to grow new food which in time can be used in our meals.
- Recycling all other waste: All other waste that comes with the packaged food we purchase is recycled through our local council.

Choosing Kinyana Kitchen is not only a good thing for your health, it is also a good thing for our planet and everything around us.
