🎂 The Jungle Collection is TWO! 🦋
September marks two years since I opened the doors to The Jungle Collection.
But the funny thing about anniversaries is that they make you look at where you are now and realise just how much had to happen to get you here.
The Jungle Collection might be two years old, but its story goes back much further.
Before this shop, there was The Secret Jungle. Before that, there was my little market stall at the Kuranda Original Markets. Before that, I was making jewellery, experimenting with art styles as young people do, selling at markets and studying art.
And before any of that, I was a teenager in New Zealand who just really, really loved to paint.
There have been so many different versions of my art, my business and myself along the way. Some grew into something bigger. Some didn't work. Some ended when I desperately didn't want them to. Some had to be completely torn apart before I could build something new.
So for The Jungle Collection's second birthday, I wanted to look backwards.
Because before it was this, it had to be all of that.
Thank you to everyone who has walked through the doors, bought a piece of my artwork, ordered something online, stopped for an iced tea, visited me at a market, shared my work, or supported one of the many versions of this little business over the years.
Here's to two years of The Jungle Collection...and fourteen years of figuring it out along the way. 🖤🌿
