🎷 MEET THE LILA SWAIN QUARTET🎷
For our first **Licence to Play**, we’re bringing together four incredible Northern Rivers musicians for a night of jazz, bossa nova, soul and late-night grooves.
🎙️ Lila Swain — vocalist, songwriter and producer, with musical roots in jazz and choral singing and a love for the greats — Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. Drawn also to the sun-soaked melodies of Antônio Carlos Jobim, Lila approaches jazz as something to be lived in, bent and made new each time.
🥁 Marcelo Bonin — Brazilian drummer, musician and producer bringing the rich rhythms of Brazilian music into conversation with jazz, funk and experimental sounds. His playing is grounded in rhythm, improvisation and musical exploration.
🎹 Brent Calcutt — an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose influences span jazz, blues, funk, soul, Latin and folk. A VCA-trained musician, Brent has toured nationally, played Splendour in the Grass and performed with an extensive list of projects from Melbourne to the Northern Rivers.
🎸 Mosese Parker — Fijian-born musician, beatmaker and songwriter known for crafting his own distinct **“midnight sound”** — a blend of global rhythms, ska, New Orleans hip-hop and jazz.
Together, the Lila Swain Quartetbrings voice, keys, bass and drums into the intimate surrounds of Madame Luu’s den — moving through timeless jazz, warm bossa nova, soulful grooves and a little musical mischief.
🍸 Low lights.
🎷 Live jazz.
💋 A little decadence.
