Today I had the privilege of attending the Careers Expo at Hellyer College, it gave me a chance to stop and reflect.
Some days I still get imposter syndrome. I get so caught up in the day to day of being a mum and running a business that I forget just how much I have achieved over the last 14 years within the baking industry.
I didn't wake up one day and decide I wanted a career change. I didn't suddenly discover I loved baking and turn it into a business. Ever since I was in high school, I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up. Baking has always been my passion, and with a whole lot of hard work and determination, I've turned that passion into my career.
What I do isn't just a side hobby or something to fill in time. It's what I've genuinely loved doing since I can remember.
Today I had the opportunity to represent not only the baking industry, but also small business owners and entrepreneurs. I hope that by sharing my journey, I inspired at least one student to believe that whatever they're passionate about can become their career too. Whether that's baking, building, designing, creating or something completely different, don't let anyone tell you it's impossible.
Building B's Little Bakehouse hasn't happened overnight. It's taken years of learning, hard work, sacrifices, setbacks, long days, late nights and a whole lot of love. But every challenge has been worth it to build something I'm so incredibly proud of π₯°
Thank you to everyone that has positively impacted my journey, I wouldn't be where I am today without your help and guidance.
Thank you Hellyer College, for having me. I hope I inspired a few future business owners today π©·
