Primula Team Update.

To all who visited The Primula Cafe, you'll remember our youngest staff member Tori. Let me share that I head hunted this girl while she still attended school. Her spark, energy, smile and self confidence told me that she needed to be a part of our team. So we adopted her.

Tori is so interested in the Asian culture that she has travelled to Korea then Vietnam on her own. She has taught herself to speak Korean and aspires to work and live there someday. Her love for Asian culture and food shows through her knowledge about the way of life and rituals practiced in Asia. She loves to travel and loves to learn new things. I'm pretty sure she's already planned her next trip or two.

Tori worked hard, juggling her studies or more than one job. She was a delight to work with and always happy. Living locally in Bundanoon, locals remember her as a wee child and have followed her journey blossoming into this beautiful young woman.

We wish Tori all the very best for her future endeavours and if you need anything translated from Korean to English, just ask Tori.

Primula Cafe Update.

Some of you ask where all our beloved team members are since closing the cafe. You will remember Angus. Happy, go lucky and always happy to assist. Angus really enjoyed working at the Primula Cafe. He became a team member three years ago and instantly fit right in.

Angus's caring nature made him easy to work with. His fun loving personality and humour made all who knew him loveable. A loyal and committed member of our community loved by all.

Angus very quickly picked up how to make pizzas and really enjoyed it. He was the only male amongst five women. He very quickly adapted to the clucking of five hens as we would emerge in female conversations. A real animal lover and advocate for all animals. You may see him around Bundanoon walking his huge dogs 🐕. Be sure to say hi when you see him.

Thank you Angus for all your hard work. We wish you well on your future journeys.

Update on Team Primula

Here's an update on Liz, whom everybody knows from The Primula cafe.

Liz has been working at The Primula Cafe for around ten years and is a face everyone in Bundanoon affiliates with the cafe. After the cafe shut down, Liz was fortunate enough to go into retirement after years of hard work. She always liked to have a chat and greeted customers with a smile.
Liz is a big advocate for animals. She loves to cook and her garden. She also genuinely cares for people. She's been known for inviting people to spend Christmas day to celebrate with her family when they're spending it alone. Her table is always full of food and great deserts. Many of which she would bring into work to share.

Liz is planning to travel to Sri Lanka this month. A trip she has been looking forward to for months. We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her and she was a very important part of our team.

We wish Liz all the best on her future travels and endeavours and would like to thank her for her years of hard work and commitment.

Update on Team Primula

Our gorgeous Franky returned from her 3 week trek in Kathmandu where she hiked to Base camp 5400ft above sea level at Mount Everest. Franky, once fluent in Nepalese when she was young, lived there with her mother. Exposed to the culture and diversity, Franky is a resilient young woman who is also in her last year of her history university degree. Franky hopes to work in a museum doing archives.

Franky now works part-time at Rose Cafe in Goulburn. They are so lucky to have her and to see her infectious smile brighten up people's day. Franky was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of working with her. We wish Franky all the very best for her bright future. Definitely missed by us all.

How wonderful it was to visit down from Sydney and catch up with some of my favourite local devout Primula customers. I was over joyed to see them all. Thank you to Bundanoon local grocer for accommodating us all and for the lovely coffee.

Christmas 2026...for the first time since owning The Primula in five years, I was able to host Christmas day and spend it with my mother, sister, friends and nieces. There'll be alot of time now for family. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️

It was an enormous task getting our beautiful cafe emptied and packed up. Thank you to all who helped us, our staff, our customers/ friends. Hard work by Andrew Yerak really got the place cleaned up. What an amazing job. He worked day and night battling though to meet our deadline. Thank you. Xx

Grateful for having had this opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. We made many friends and fond memories. We rolled with the punches and we held our head up. Thank you to my amazing staff who have become family. Together we could tell some stories, write a book, even record a sitcom. I am honoured to have worked with you Elizabeth Fenwick Jordan Bonny, Franky , Tori and Angus as well as many of our past staff members. It's been a blast! Xx

Our mascot cat Ginger passed away yesterday. How symbolic to leave us now just as The Primula closed. Ginger has been here 17 years. Left behind by the landlord, we adopted him and gave him much love. He was loved by many customers especially Pedro who would purposely drink his coffee in the courtyard to talk to Ginger. Goodbye Ginger.

Have you met our Primula cat? His name is Gingin. He's 17 years old and loves to greet our customers. Next time you pop into our courtyard say hi. He's friendly and always loves a pat.
