Apparently we’re walking 21km. 🐻☕️

Bear has signed up for All Night Long, an overnight walk raising money for Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland and Children’s Hospital Foundation this October!

No big personal story behind why, but do we need one?

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY 🐻☕️

One year ago, we opened the doors to Bear Cub and shared it with our family for the very first time.

And honestly… we were terrified.

We had made the decision to open the cafe quietly for a whole week before telling anyone. We wanted to make sure everything was just right. We wanted to figure it out, make it feel like us, and create something that was 100% authentically Izzy & Bear before we shared it with our people.

Getting to finally open those doors and have our family walk through them was a feeling we’ll never forget.

And now, somehow, we’re ONE YEAR IN.

In one year, Bear Cub has become so much more than a cafe.

It’s brought families together.
It’s brought neighbours together.
It’s introduced people who had lived next door to each other for 10+ years.
It’s given people a reason to get out of the house and have a social outing.
It’s become a place to create, share, laugh, meet someone new and feel at home.

A little creative juice hub sitting in the middle of Petrie Terrace. ☕️✨

And for Bear, this place is deeply personal. After stepping away from the food industry to chase her own dreams, she poured herself into creating a cafe that felt like home. Watching her build that dream from the ground up has been one of the most special parts of this whole journey.

This is just ONE YEAR of Bear Cub.

And somehow, within that one year, we’ve already grown, expanded and created even more space for our community.

We cannot wait to see what the next chapter brings. 🐻🤎

To everyone who has walked through our doors, brought their friends, brought their families, had a coffee, shared a laugh, shed a tear, worked from our tables, met someone here, celebrated something here or simply made Bear Cub part of your week…
