End of an Era 😢
After 7 incredible years, the time has come to say goodbye. This will be my final week as the current owner of Clapham Junction.
Looking back, I feel an enormous sense of gratitude. First and foremost, I want to thank my amazing team, past and present. Your hard work, loyalty, passion, and friendship have made Clapham Junction what it is today. It has been a privilege to work alongside such wonderful people.
I also want to thank the incredible communities of Banyo, Nudgee, Virginia and beyond for your unwavering support over the years. Whether you joined us for some cocktails, a dining experience, a celebration or simply a friendly chat at the bar, you became part of our story. Clapham Junction has always been much more than a business, it has been a meeting place where milestones celebrated, community connections strengthened and in some cases where first dates turned into long term relationships 😉
Throughout these 7 years, I have tried to operate the venue with values that extend beyond business. I believe that strong communities are built on fairness, inclusion, kindness, and opportunity for everyone. Social wellbeing, support for local people, respect for diversity, and creating a welcoming space for all have always been important to me. Small local businesses play an important role in creating sustainable, vibrant neighbourhoods, and I hope that you continue this support.
The good news is that CJ is being handed over to capable hands. Jake will be taking over in a couple of weeks, and even better news—he will be keeping the current team and the great atmosphere that you all know and love, while bringing some exciting improvements of his own. I wish Jake every success and have no doubt that the venue will continue to thrive under his leadership.
I still have until end of June, so please come by for a drink, a meal, a laugh, or simply to say hello—and goodbye. I would love the opportunity to thank many of you personally before I go.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making the last seven years so special. The memories, friendships, and sense of community will stay with me forever.
