We are honoured to count Chef Romain Bapst a mentor, friend and customer at and congratulate him on being awarded a promotion of his Order of Merit from Chevalier to Officer. The correct title is Officier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole , dated 31 July 2026, by the French Government and Secretaire General de Elysée Monsieur Pierre-Andre Imbert. Pictured here serving us his duck press, a meal he perfected and now dearly missed in Brisbane.

We have an opening right now for an experienced career hospo adult who loves pastry and breads and coffee and customers and presenting a lovely shop to our customers, some of whom come each week and were there the day we opened in 1984 - not kidding! We have an enthusiastic team who will develop well with leadership. You gotta be a morning person and a great barista. We can teach you about our pastries, cakes and scrummy meals.
