Something we think about every single day at The Larder, what happens to the food we make.
Food waste in hospitality is a real problem, and we've made a conscious effort to do things differently. Our chefs work seven days a week, baking and cooking fresh each morning in quantities we genuinely expect to sell. We cook seasonally so ingredients are always at their best and nothing is forced onto the menu past its prime.
We've also recently partnered with Too Good To Go, the world's largest surplus food app, so that anything remaining at the end of the day goes up as a Surprise Bag at a reduced price, ready for someone to rescue rather than waste. It's a small action, but it adds up.
