We are famous for our delicious hand crafted ice creams, seafood chowder. Open for breakfast/ lunch and dinner everyday, 9:30am to 5pm. Fully licensed.

RV stop over available for self contained units. The Pondering Frog is a newly established business on the East Coast of Tasmania. Its mission is to supply high quality information , service and product to the travelling public on the East Coast of Tasmania. Since opening the gate in July 2014 the owners Lester and Collette have developed what was a shed in a paddock selling ice cream and smoothie

s out of the kitchen, to a vibrant place to stop, relax in a garden setting, with a children’s playground and enjoy a light snack, tea or coffee or just an ice cream. As the gate way to the National park it is becoming known as the place to go for a personalised itinerary to enjoy the gems of the East Coast Drive.. Open 7 days from 8am – 7pm in summertime , The Pondering Frog caters for the late leavers from the Freycinet National Park. Winter trading is 8am to 5pm. Open for dinner by booking only between 5pm and 7pm in winter.

The King’s Birthday Long Weekend is finally here!!

Juicy, smoky chicken smothered in our rich peanut sauce. It’s sweet, savory, and a total crowd-pleaser. In fact, it's so good, it might actually keep the kids quiet and eating for a solid 20 minutes.

We are open all weekend long to keep the family fed and happy!

Happy 80th Birthday, Kevin! 🎂 🎉

We had the absolute honor of hosting Kevin’s big 80th birthday bash over the weekend!

This is actually the third year in a row Kevin has chosen to celebrate his birthday with us! Seeing familiar faces year after year seriously feels like celebrating with family.

Kevin sent us a super sweet text saying everyone loved the food and had a blast—honestly, that made our whole week!

Thank you so much for the love! Cheers to great health and happiness, Kevin. You're a legend!

Hi everyone,

Last night at around 1:30am, someone entered our shop through the back door and stole cash. CCTV footage shows the person was carrying a weapon.

Fortunately, our chef happened to come in at that time and startled the intruder, who then run with a motorcycle.

Please stay alert and be careful. Make sure to lock all doors properly and always prioritise your safety.
