And just like that... we've closed the doors on this chapter of Gaijin. ❤️
What a ride it's been.
When we opened Gaijin almost 10 years ago, we never could have imagined what it would become. We simply wanted to create a place where people could gather over good food. We never imagined the community that would grow around it, the friendships that would be made, the milestones we'd be lucky enough to be part of, or just how much this little restaurant would come to mean to so many people... including us.
Over the years we've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, engagements, reunions, promotions and countless catch-ups. We've watched families grow, welcomed people through our doors week after week, and had the privilege of getting to know so many incredible people along the way.
The last few weeks have been unlike anything we've ever experienced. The love, support and kindness you've shown us has been overwhelming in the very best way. Thank you for every meal shared, every kind word, every hug, every message and every memory you've shared with us. We'll carry them with us forever.
To our amazing staff, past and present, thank you. Gaijin has been what it is because of each and every one of you. Your passion, hard work and care have left a mark on this place that will never be forgotten.
Tonight we turned off the lights, locked the doors and walked away from a chapter that has shaped our lives for almost a decade. It's emotional, but more than anything, we're incredibly grateful.
Thank you for every booking, every takeaway order, every recommendation to a friend, every review, every smile and every conversation. You gave us so much more than a successful restaurant—you gave us a community, and that's something we'll never take for granted.
While this chapter has come to an end, who knows what the future holds? For now, it's goodbye to this little restaurant we poured our hearts into..
