Today, our hearts are broken, the Northern Rivers Seafood family says goodbye to one of the hardest workers we have ever known — Steve Mergan.

Steve was a man’s man. He wasn’t big on hugs, hated having his photo taken, and never wanted to be the centre of attention. But anyone who knew him understood very quickly the kind of person he was. Quiet, tough, loyal, and unbelievably hardworking.

No matter how hard the day was, Steve just got on with it. He had a deep love and knowledge of the ocean that couldn’t be taught, and a willingness to help anyone without ever asking for anything in return.

Over the last four years, Steve became such a huge part of Northern Rivers Seafood. His impact on all of us was impossible to miss. We are a better team because of Steve.

Steve, you were one of a kind. A true mate. A true worker. And a man who left a mark on every single person here.

Rest easy, Stevo. You’ll be deeply missed by all of us at Northern Rivers Seafood 💔

Caught this morning, curry by tonight 🦐
These are wild Clarence River school prawns, sweet, delicate, and nothing like the imports. We pulled them in just before lunch and dropped them at for the team to sell fresh.
Sweet as Get them while they last.
