🎉 It’s official. Walyalup Bridge in Fremantle will open this Sunday on 1 November 2026, marking a new chapter for one of Western Australia's most significant river crossings.

Just in time for summer and the festive season, the new bridge will make it easier for you to travel to and from Fremantle.

Celebrate the opening and be among the first to walk across the bridge before it officially opens to traffic later that evening.

Enjoy a free, family-friendly event featuring entertainment, activities and a sausage sizzle.

📅 Sunday 1 November 2026
⏰ 9am–1pm

Plan ahead and allow extra time when accessing the area.
Expect extra foot traffic and congestion around Canning Highway, Beach Street and Queen Victoria Street.

There is no parking at the event, consider taking public transport. Catch the train to North Fremantle or Fremantle Stations and walk to the new bridge.

A free shuttle bus will run from Fremantle Station.
