Today marks the first day of the 2026 Desert Harmony Festival with Barkly Regional Arts.

Recently, students from the CDU Information Technology program visited the Imparja Studios for an intensive workplace experience focused on developing practical media production skills.🎥

Working alongside the Imparja crew, students gained valuable hands-on experience with professional camera equipment while building their confidence in digital storytelling. The intensive provided an insight into the broadcasting industry and helped students strengthen the practical skills needed for future careers in media and technology.

Find out how CDU Alice Springs alumna, salon owner and corrections trainer Esme Pye is helping students in custody build practical barbering skills and confidence.

A new barbering course at the Alice Springs Correctional Facility is giving students in custody the opportunity to build practical skills, confidence and potential pathways into employment.

Students from the Higher Education of Nursing program recently came together in the CDU Alice Springs Student Lounge for a Curry Night filled with great food, conversation and connection. The evening featured a screening of Kangaroo, a film shot locally in Alice Springs! 🦘

The event also welcomed a guest speaker from the Central Australian Remote Health Student Society (CARHSS), who shared information about the organisation's role in supporting health students passionate about rural and remote health in Central Australia. The Curry Night was a fantastic opportunity for students to relax, connect with their peers, and strengthen their engagement with the local community.

A big thank you to all the students who joined us, and to the CDU staff and volunteers who helped make the evening possible! 🍛
