CDU attended the Youth Entrepreneurship & Small Business Expo yesterday, a fantastic start to October Business Month!

The day featured panel speakers sharing their real experiences of starting and running a business, offering plenty of inspiration and practical advice for future entrepreneurs. A great line-up of local businesses and organisations also showcased the support available to help turn an idea or hobby into a business. 💡🤝

🦎💧 A remote waterhole in the heart of the Outback is now live-streaming to the world 🦎💧

Charles Darwin University's Professor Jenny Davis (Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods) has partnered with NT Parks and Wildlife to set up a livestream at a waterhole in Watarrka National Park, 350km south-west of Alice Springs.

The camera captures dingoes, kangaroos, birds, dragonflies, frogs and more as they rely on this vital water source through the seasons — giving anyone, anywhere, a window into how life survives in one of the world's most unpredictable and extreme climates.

💄✨ Big news from CDU TAFE! Beauty Therapy Lecturer Ella Adami has been appointed as an educational expert on Service and Creative Skills Australia's Technical Committee, helping lead a national review of five key beauty qualifications — from Certificate III in Beauty Services right through to the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

Ella will be working alongside industry leaders to make sure these courses keep pace with new technologies, treatments and evolving industry expectations — with a special focus on making sure rural and remote students get the skills they need too.

Congratulations to CDU apprentice Oliver on his outstanding achievements!

Through hard work, determination and support from his training journey, Oliver completed his apprenticeship at Power and Water with CDU to become a qualified electrician.

Oliver has been recognized for his hard work being named the James Bell Apprentice of the Year at the 2026 Master Builders Excellence in Building and Construction Awards and is also a finalist for the 2026 Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year at the Northern Territory Training Awards, to be held in Darwin on 19 September.

We also extend our congratulations to all finalists in the 2026 Northern Territory Training Awards. We wish you all the very best for the awards night in Darwin.
