LEST WE FORGET โ HONOURING OUR ANZAC HISTORY ๐ฆ๐บ
At the Horse and Groom Albany, we're proud to be bringing a special piece of Australian history to life.
We are currently transforming our bottom bar and dining room into a tribute to the ANZACs, honouring the brave men and women who served our country and the incredible role Albany played in Australia's military history.
โ Albany โ Where Their Journey Began
In 1914, thousands of Australian and New Zealand soldiers departed from Albany's shores, bound for war. For many, Albany was their last glimpse of Australia before heading overseas, with troops later going on to fight at Gallipoli.
It's a powerful part of our town's history, and one that deserves to be remembered for generations to come.
๐๏ธ Keeping Their Memories Alive
Throughout our bottom bar and dining room, we're putting together a collection of historic photographs, wartime images, memorabilia and tributes that tell the stories of the ANZACs and Albany's important connection to their journey.
We want to create more than just a place to enjoy a meal or a drink. We want to create a space where locals and visitors can reflect, learn, share stories and remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us.
โค๏ธ Their Courage. Their Sacrifice. Their Legacy.
We're incredibly proud of Albany's place in ANZAC history, and we hope this tribute will help ensure that their stories are passed down through the generations.
We look forward to sharing the transformation with you all and welcoming you in to experience this special piece of history.
They left from our shores. Their stories will live on within our walls.
