One thing we’ve learnt from running 118 Kovenant Cafe & Restaurant and now mutyas.adl is that hospitality can move very quickly.

So we’re taking the long weekend to prepare our new menu and we can’t wait to bring it to you. The flavours are bold, the dishes are new and we’ve kept some favourites so you don’t miss out on amazing Filipino food!

When we say we treat our customers like family, we genuinely mean it and we want to make sure our family enjoys our food.

A little long weekend update from our family to yours. ❤️

Running a family business means there are times when you need to recognise when it’s time to stop, reset and spend a little time together.

But this long weekend we’re also preparing for something exciting: a brand-new menu and drinks offering at mutyas.adl .

Our long weekend trading hours are:

Saturday: 11am-3pm & 5pm-10pm
Sunday: CLOSED
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: Normal trading 5pm-9pm

Meet the man behind the menu.

Chef Christian Velasquez is Mutya’s son, our Head Chef and the person responsible for bringing the food of mutyas.adl to life.

For Christian, creating this menu was never simply about putting Filipino dishes on a plate.

It was about family. Memories. Regions. Traditions. Ingredients. And finding a way to represent the incredible diversity of the Philippines through a contemporary dining experience here in Adelaide.

Our food takes inspiration from across the Philippine archipelago, bringing together the flavours Christian grew up with and the stories that have been passed through our family.

There is a lot of technique behind what happens in our kitchen, but there’s even more heart.

And with something new coming to the menu soon, Chef Christian has been very busy behind the scenes.

We’ve loved sharing our menu with you.

From the dishes inspired by the food we grew up eating to the flavours and ingredients that have allowed us to tell a little more of the Philippines’ story, this menu has been incredibly special to our family.

This is Mum. The heart of our family and, in so many ways, the heart of Mutya’s. Our venue was created in honour of her, her journey, her strength, the food she raised us on and the Filipino traditions she has passed down through our family.

We couldn’t think of a more fitting name for a restaurant than mutyas.adl that represents something so personal to us.

And this photo? Mum looking over a table filled with our food. Exactly where she belongs.

Every dish that leaves our kitchen carries a little piece of our family story with it.

This dish is an example of what Mutya’s is all about, great produce elevated by the flavours and influences of the Philippines.

Scallop Bicol Express features South Australian scallops, coconut milk and chilli and they’re a special feature on our menu.

We want each plate we serve to take you somewhere whether it reminds you of something you’ve eaten before or introduces you to a flavour you’ve never experienced.

Our Salmon ‘Sinigang’ is a perfect example of the way we approach food at Mutya’s.

Enjoy the pan seared salmon sitting on roasted tomatoes, book choy, eggplant and salmon roe in a tamarind miso consumme.

We have worked to create something that feels familiar while offering something unexpected.
