Hey legends, just a quick announcement — we’ve decided to pull the pin on our Salisbury location.
Short-lived but full of good times, and a massive thank you to everyone who came through and showed us love.
Running one business is hard enough. Running two? That was us biting off more than we could chew. We realised we’re simple folk. Running between shops, writing rosters, juggling grill shifts and doing orders all over the place, it’s not how we want to live. Time off matters. Family and friends matter. So we’ve made the call to get back to that.
Along the way, we made some awesome burgers, created a few wild specials, met some great people, built solid relationships, and had legendary neighbours. We also learnt that we operate very differently to some other venues, but that’s all part of the ride. Things don’t always play out how you imagined, but we choose to see the good in any situation. We live and we learn.
Truth be told, running a business in Australia is gruelling. Before you even flip your first patty, you’re knee-deep in paperwork, red tape, and about a dozen hidden hurdles. Behind the scenes, it’s a grind and honestly, hats off to anyone giving it a go. The risk vs reward is getting slimmer with each power bill and price hike.
So next time you're out and about and see a new operator having a crack, show them love. Support the small guys. A world without small business is one I don’t want to be part of.
We’re back by the beach now just how we like it, slinging burgers at Semaphore. A new concept is taking over the Salisbury site, and we genuinely wish the new tenants all the best. We’ll be keen to pop in and see what they’re bringing to the table.
Thanks again.
